Soo , new to the thread and after funding my only child through 6 years of uni , I now have disposable income 😱. Also Mr Munch has come into some money so we are wanting a paradise holiday . On my bucket list . We got together in our 50’s and he has experienced them with his ex before and says Maldives . I want exactly what you picture when you say paradise. Both vegetarian , not massively into being active ! So I’m not sure, Maldives or somewhere in Caribbean? Any thoughts ???

Does anyone have recommendations for an all inclusive which has a lot of vegetarian options? My friend who I'll go with is vegetarian but quite fussy. In Europe. All the ones I found are every expensive
Barcelo hotels do excellent food for veggies.

I think both will give you what you need. However you could probably get more for your money in the Carribean

What would you do. I'm going to do a group tour I'll have 3 full days beforehand. I was just going to travel the the country and relax for a few days which is still probably what I'll do. But I just thought maybe I could stop somewhere else for them days. The travel days are extra so I'd have 5 days there but just 3 full days without travel. The final destination is Panama. I was looking at Costa Rica maybe

That feeling when you are home and your holiday is over :(

Thailand fantastic as always! Much prefer Bang Niang area in Khao Lak though over main Khao Lak.

Now for the fun that is sorting suitcases.

Have still a few holidays planned for throughout the year which softens the blow a bit but I do really struggle the first couple of days I'm home. I think all the excitement and build up and then the holiday just goes so quickly.

Holiday blues is real, I'm sure i will have that soon after my own return from thailand lol!

The only solution really is having more trips booked so looks like you have that covered 🤣

I just booked a holiday for 2027 😆 was planning on booking another for the start of 2027 but I'll see how much overtime pay I get first as I've just had a £500 unexpected bill 😭

I'm visiting Glasgow in March to see off the last of my annual leave. Any recommendations? Not been to Scotland itself for like 13 years.

Went to Glasgow in June 2024 just to see a concert really, but to make the most of it also went on a lovely day trip to the Highlands, booked with Rabbie’s tours. I definitely recommend them. Was very easy, pick up and drop off from the central bus station in Glasgow. We were lucky with the weather, it’s always a gamble (even in summer!)

Glasgow is lovely! Recommend a visit to Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum - even if art isn't your thing the building is gorgeous. There's some nice bars and cafes around that part of the city too and the park is nice if its a nice day. Champagne Central is beautiful and just above the Central Station, and Alston Bar & Beef is underneath the station and the food was great. We had a good meal at Topolobomba mexican too. Shilling Brewing was a nice taproom. We've mostly been to Glasgow for specific things so not really done much other than food/drink but it is a nice city to wander round and enjoy the architecture.

We have a couple of trips planned this year, a river cruise on the Danube in April, a couple of caravan holidays in Dorset/IOW and Scotland in May and September and a few days in Jersey in June. We have decided to go a bit more low key and local this year as I'm recovering from a stroke and we didn't want to go too far from civilisation!

We are doing our first UK holiday as we’re saving for another long haul for next year.

Off to Wales (near Snowdonia) for a week in August along with family & two dogs. Looks like there be enough to keep us occupied including an 9 year old. I’m hoping it doesn’t rain the whole time!

We’ve booked again for January 2027 and have to say, it’s definitely cured the holiday depression lol. So yes I think you need to do the same 😍

Do you mind me asking which airline please? I'm not finding any availability at the moment .. I think possibly a little too early.
Want to fly out 27 dec - 29 Jan

I haven't booked the flights yet, I normally leave them until about August/September time to see what deals come out. Have just the hotel booked for now. You will be there for New Year! That will be amazing.

I’d planned to book flights to Japan for cherry blossom season for this year, the most expensive time to go (planning to go in about 8 weeks) however flights (for 5) are eye wateringly expensive (14k for 5 of us, with accommodation to pay for on top, but we’ll do basic air B&B’s and travel round for about 14 days).
Has anyone been at this time of year, and is it worth the huge expense (I’d be funding this out of an inheritance, and it has been a dream to us to go as a whole family, in the spring). I’m so conflicted about the cost and I guess I’m hoping someone says ‘sod it, go for it. It’s worth it the expense for the memories’.

Wow that’s a lot! Is that premium or business? Surely not economy! However I do know flights to Japan are very expensive at the minute as we are paying £1500pp in October (economy out and premium economy back with BA).
I think the Japanese airlines could be a bit cheaper, JAL and ANA maybe?
