I’m doing a group tour and starting in Hoi An and finishing in Ho Chi Minh. I’m guessing like a lot of countries in area it changes from wet to dry season as you travel around? Think I’ll pack for all weather just in case
Yes defo! Further north it was much colder than we expected, I wore my one jumper to death 🤣 so I would take a bigger range of stuff on future trips. Sounds like an amazing trip!

I've just returned from a week in India. Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. It was a fascinating experience. It's definitely an experience rather than just a holiday.
Are you going on an organised trip/tour or are you arranging you own travel and trips?

Ahh how did you find it? We’re going to do Delhi jaipur and Agra and then head to Goa for a week before going to Mumbai, we’re planning it ourselves so any tips would be great 🙌🏻

We did Goa, Delhi and Agra. It was amazing but when they tell you not to leave your hotel unaccompanied in Agra do listen to that advice!😂
Also prepare for Delhi belly, it’s the only place we’ve ever had to call a doctor out on holiday and we travel a lot.

We were on a fully organised tour. My primary tip would've been, book an organised tour :ROFLMAO:
I would certainly say allow a lot of time for travel, the traffic in the Cities is mental. The Indian driving style is 'interesting'...and you spend a lot of time in traffic. Or, waiting for cows to move off the road! We were collected from our hotels by coach, I'd Googled the journey times between Delhi, Agra and Jaipur and in reality it was at least 2 hours more.

Be prepared for the fact that everywhere that isn't a tourist site is very dirty, and many areas are covered in rubbish. Also, be prepared for hassle. Nearly everyone is trying to sell you something or begging. It's relentless and they are very persistent. I've been to many places where this happens so, thought I was prepared, but it was another level in India. Ensure you have no high value items visible and are secure. I bought a money belt and that gave me considerable peace of mind.,

We had no issues with food and Delhi belly, but we had all of our lunch restaurants arranged, and they had chosen good quality places. And, due to the very long sightseeing days, (plus traffic ) we ate in the hotel at night.
Take plenty of tissues for the toilets (not many have an actual seat) and lots of hand gel.

It was a fabulous experience, the places we visited were interesting and stunning, but it's definitely an experience.

Just finished booking a month+ in Florida. East Caribbean Cruise from Ft Lauderdale, then a few days in Key West, then a few days in Miami, then a western Carribean cruise from ft Lauderdale, then Orlando for a week, then fly home.

Just gotta book plane tickets, rental car, and Disney/Universal entry. Booked hotel a few miles from theme parks, as the ones inside or just outside are (unsurprisingly) pricey.

Key West accommodation is very expensive but it was either pay it or don’t ever go, and we really wanna go, cos YOLO an’ all that.

I’ve never been to Florida nor Carribean, so I’m excited!

All of the hotels we booked (apart from in Key West) are from the Bonvoy group - this is the group that includes Marriott, Sheraton, Moxy and loads of other brands which vary in budget.

For anyone who travels frequently, I’d strongly recommend trying to stay with one group (eg Bonvoy, Accor, IHG, etc) to rack up points. Our Bonvoy loyalty has earned us loads of points and really good perks and it has really helped with this trip (and others!)

Also same for flights. We try to only book Lufthansa group (which also includes Aegean, Austrian, Brussels and more). We booked our flights yesterday and used points to partially pay for upgrades.

We booked two cruises (East and West Carribean) with Holland America special offers (irrc it worked out to around a third off the regular price) which they started to email us with after our first cruise with them in October. So when booking a cruise, with any cruise line, always tick the checkbox for correspondence/offers via email.

Key West we booked some hotel called Havana Cabana cos all the Bonvoy options were crazy expensive! But it looks fine, and it also provides a shuttle into town.

Over the weekend I gotta look into Disney and Universal. There are so many different ticket options. There are four different Universal parks, but honestly I think just the main one will do. So I will see how much the fast pass for a day will cost.

I've worked a lot of overtime recently thought I'd be paying my holidays for 2026 off until the last possible date (May/June) but I'm hoping I'll be able to pay them off this month 🤞🤞. I've started planning my 2027 trip 😆 I've always wanted to go the san blast islands but couldn't find a way to make it work. Race across the world just made me look into it again and G Adventures now have a tour there so hopefully I can do that 🤞

I'd still be paying at the last minute, keeping the money in a savings account and earning myself some interest :)

We were recently discussing how far people had or were willing (me) to travel for short breaks.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think we have a winner - my friend is just off to Brisbane, for 4 days 😳

That's just nuts! Although probably not the most insane thing said friend has ever done :ROFLMAO:

Maybe I'll try and book a Christmas break next year as well. Although I have a pay drop in Jan 😭 but also more time off so I'll be able to do more overtime

Blimey that is insane. I don't think I could cope with that. You'd probably have got over the jet lag by the time you get to the airport to go home...

I think for four days I'd be willing to go up to 5/6 hours flight time - providing the flight times were good so you could actually enjoy most of that time there rather than two of the days basically just being travel days.

The canaries is my limit for 4 days i think. 4.5h flight or so 😅 i know people who'll get on 16h flight for a week holiday (thats including travel). It's mad to me, I'd just be knackered the whole time

I have been to both those cities several times. Love Mumbai , hate Delhi.
Mumbai we saw the Dhobi ghats, Ghandi's house and Banganga tank , all amazing, it's a very colourful city.
Delhi I did enjoy Chandni Chowk , a shopping bazaar , just incredible, so interesting and colourful.
Be prepared for a bit of hassle, everyone wants you to ride their rickshaw, buy souvenirs etc etc, all part of the fun, but haggle hard, always..
