And even if the 'baby' was asleep, wouldn't you instinctively move it into your arms to cradle/rock it horizontally? It's many years since mine were small, but I didn't hold them like Meghan apparently did for 2 hours , apparently 'asleep', in the position she was holding that 'baby'. And you're right - tiny babies are always moving and 'snuffling' (in that cute baby way) even when they are asleep

That day at the polo was well weird.

Harry is essentially lazy. Meghan knows it too. He wants the way greased for him like it was before marriage. BP did everything and all he had to do was show up and read what what was in front of hm. No thinking required. Plus he wants money just for breathing.

Oh that's spooky. I was listening to a(nother) audiobook on the history of The Beatles today (unashamedly a Beatles fan ) and the parallels between the co-dependent relationships of John and Yoko and Harry and Meghan are numerous.

I now see @Elainne got there before me on that

I have a big birthday this year, never realised this is what was missing from my life and going STRAIGHT to the top of the birthday list....

She’s fully reached the Alan Partridge desperation stage of Monkey Tennis with this latest idea, although Monkey Tennis would be amusing for a few minutes.

Are matches still a thing?

Most cookers and ovens are electric, and there’s lighters for the rest of things needing igniting. Iirc, last time i saw matches they were given for free at hotels.
I still use matches for my candles (Decent, British candles, not any of that wickless Asewer crap from dear Megsy )

I used to ride a lot in a place called Stanton in the Cotswolds and there was this proper old pub at the top of the village hill called “The Mount”. I used to love in my smoking days that they had a big basket of Swan Vesta matches and the. A brick sitting on the bar to strike them on. That is matches, not this dated greige buffoonery.

My cooker is gas, but I won't be buying her matches, ta very much. Wtf will she come up with next? Nutcracker? A set of grapefruit spoons and fish knives? A branding iron with As Ever on it to mark your man?

Clearly the Fire Brigade didnt teach Huggy the same rhyme they taught my daughters in primary school:

Matches matches
Never touch
They can hurt you
Very much

Oh god, i looked up “The little Match Girl” to see if any giggles to be had from comparisons. What a sodding miserable story.
