I think a trim will make the world of difference ... if it's been five months even go for a bit more than a trim (a good cut), to give a good healthy start.Ah I do use the wet brush to brush my hair after a shower but I just thought because it says “wet brush” it was fine. I have a thick toothed comb so will change to that for sure!
Also do need a trim, what with lockdown it’s been a good 5 months since my last one! I usually go somewhere pretty cheap and it’s more of an “in and out” jobby so I’ve never thought to ask the hairdresser for advice. I will maybe book a proper salon next time!
Try to look for a hairdresser who stocks a few different brands (they'll likely all be owned by the same parent company anyway but even so ...). Also tell them before they do anything on your hair what you're after - don't fall for a hard sell of 101 products; all you really need is a good shampoo, conditioner, styling product (with a heat protectant for when you use your blow dryer), and maybe hairspray (if you use it). Anything else is a nice, added extra. Also ask them to use what they think will be good on your hair during your appointment, so you can see how much they use of everything and how they use it, as well as how it smells, feels and makes you look afterwards. Don't feel like you need to buy everything there and then; give it a couple of days to see how the products have gone in that time, before deciding.
