Don't forget that Grace had a near full collection of lululemon leggings before she started Oxford. Over a grand worth of leggings.

She may think she's been 'financially independent' since the age of 18, but if she wasn't paying rent, paying for her own food etc, it doesn't count (in my opinion). I don't know anyone on 19k who can afford to spend thousands of pounds on lululemon.

Grace has lived a live of privilege, and she says she knows this, but honestly I don't think she realises how outside the norm it is.

I go to uni with people from a similar background from Grace, and they are so unaware of the real world. Their idea of being financial independent is using their savings accounts from their parents. They don't have student loans because their "savings" pay for their tuition. I wouldn't be surprised if Grace was similar.

God I'd love to have the spare cash to even try on a pair of lulus haha

If you miss your offer and you're from a non-traditional background, you're more likely to get in because Oxbridge "contextualise" your grades to take into account your socio-economic status.

Given that Grace was studying music and she clearly had a strong music background, it's not really that surprising that she was still allowed to go...
Had she been applying to study PPE, she's far less likely to have been allowed in.

I believe her first application was for PPE and she settled on music?
