Mud House wines are nice.
Chateauneuf du Pape, Cabalié (available from Laithwaites wines), Merlot, Shiraz.I don’t drink wine at all, but my other loves red. Can anyone recommend a good one to go with a beef Wellington/ fillet steak?
Excellent taste ! .. I like 19 crimes from Australia . But I’ve never come across a bad Poilly fume which has to be my fave , Aldi used to do a lovely one , they stopped , just under a tenner too , excellent value . Close second is a Sancerre . Then a Malbec, the co op do a nice one around £7.50-£8.00I personally dislike Chardonnay, as it has too much of an oaky flavour for my palate.
But I do like white wines of the Loire Valley - Pouilly Fumé, Sancerre, Vouvray, Sauvignon blanc. Pouilly Fumé is my favourite, the kind of wine you can just drink on its own.
