I started going grey in my mid 30’s. Started off with the badger stripe at the front and then the greys increased elsewhere. I then started getting my hair dyed at the hairdressers. I was sad to lose my naturally dark brown hair colour, as no dye could match it. As I got older, I realised my skin tone was also changing and so opted for a few blonde streaks in my hair to soften the blow of going grey and having to embrace a lighter hair dye colour.Just wondering if anyone else on here is experiencing lots of grey hairs coming through in their 20s? My mum started going grey when she was in her 20s so I think it’s genetic. She’s always been really self conscious of it, but if I end up going completely grey I’m going to embrace it. Recently been noticing even more greys coming through...how long did it take for you to go totally grey and how do you deal with it?
People can be such twats sometimes. My friend pointed and shouted then pulled it out of my head to prove it. I was 23 and she was rude as fuck. I’m now 30 and I’m probably 10% grey but my dad, ex boyfriend and several friends have commented on them in upsetting ways. I’d love to embrace going grey naturally but I don’t think I can handle other peoples perception of it. I always wonder whether people would make such personal comments about balding...
I’m the same. I’ve noticed a few grey hairs near my temples and I am 30. My partner has also started showing a lot more salt ‘n’ pepper flecks all over his head - I swear lockdown has accelerated the greys... my parents didn’t go grey until early 50s so I’m convinced it is the anxietyI noticed a grey hair in April. Actually OH noticed it and pulled it out for me
I have like 100 more now.
Thanks covid, on top of everything else you’ve turned me grey in 6 months before I’m even 30!!
I have a white eyelash, ahaha. All the rest are mousey brown but I have one persistent eyelash that always grows white. Genetics are interesting.I have a strand of grey hair in the front of my head and I hate it. I’ve tried to dye it but it doesn’t take any hair dye. So I’ll just have to live with it.
Good on you for embracing your grey, I started to grey in my early 20s, had the mallon streak, I still dye mine with help from oh, only costs me £7 every 8 weeks,.I started going grey in my mid 30’s. Anyhow, about 5 years ago I decided to let my hair go grey and stopped getting it dyed every 4 weeks. It was hard going at first because of the grey roots coming through the existing colour. However, I am glad I persevered and now, I have my naturally dark colour underneath, a bit of blonde and mostly grey. The colours all work well together.
I am 55 years old and embracing my grey colour has given me confidence, not to mention more money in my purse from not spending it at the hairdresser every 4 weeks!![]()
