What I didn't know about the heart one,wtf ! It's just not regulated enough,the money just gets paid into the bank account and that's it. Very rare you see updates from them or what the money was really spent on. The go to one is always for me Ashley Cain,I would never donate to a GFM and really don't know why people still do it. The whole Charity industry isn't what people are led to believe it is,when you actually look into them. I stick to a small local one that just raises money to look after the local park,a small charity shop. It's a true Charity shop where no item is over 50p,not inflated prices paying CEOs millions a year.

It was in all the papers about a young Mum dying in Turkey and her heart being stolen for possible harvesting. It actually appears she died from complications around food poisoning, and her heart was taken as a medical process for tests.......not stolen......it was returned. It was stated a court case would happen or inquest in Nov........but nothing. Yet £260k later, it's all silence. The GFM is still showing on GoFundMe, I think they dissappear once all money is taken (I'm not clear on that), so I wonder if there has been a hold put on it. However if anyone complains, they'll just be accussed of denying the children of funds after losing their Mum. It's the usual.....not covered by insurance, and why does it always seem to be Turkey?

Something fishy about that. I've worked in a fraud team for a big retailer. If you can prove you've not committed the fraud, the debt is usually wiped from your name. Credit history cleared etc

She can’t prove it, if it’s the woman I’m thinking of (and I doubt there’s another one with the same scenario tbh) she said that the applications were done using her ID, email address etc on a device linked to her home wi-fi, and the money from over drafts was sent to several other accounts in her name. She “lost” her passport and didn’t think anything of it, even when she had multiple letters and emails from the companies about new accounts, including an iPhone order from very, she didn't connect the dots or at least wonder what was going on.

Is this the same girl who was given life sentence in Dubai? The other details are the same, like the go fund me was taken down, Mother saying she just fell in with wrong crowd...etc. She was a law student too. They didn't say what had happened & why she was arrested, but in the news article I read, they mentioned another story about a guy who slept with a girl a year young than him but was underage. Not sure if they are hinting at something like that.

I’m pretty sure I’ll get shit for this but that woman who raised over 1.5 million for her son’s heart surgery in America is now on the beg for a buggy because her son is being discharged and she broke theirs. Not sure why she can’t take an uber to a shop and get one, or order one?! There’s something fishy with that story I’m sure

I saw her TT, she did say she didn't want to go shopping because she wanted to get back to the hospital which is understandable but it's not like she's going shopping or to a spa, she needs a buggy for her son so not being there when he wakes up once and him being looked after by professionals really isn't going to affect him! She needs something for him she should have nipped and got it rather than posting on TT....

Just read an article where she states 30k will let her buy the current property she is renting. Im gonna presume she’s in a house and not a flat with a shared garden but can you buy a house plus solicitors fees in Kent for 30k?

Yes children’s funerals are state funded in Scotland. How did the girl die? I’m not sure I’ve read about this one.

At the moment they are saying unexplained but a lot of the media are reporting it was Ecstacy.

Yes, except it turns out she isn't dead. The family wrote the original GFM as if she was deceased and the husband did a bizarre TT claiming "they killed my wife", and mentioned medical negligence (also moaned about the cost of the surgeries), but now they say she's in a hospice somewhere. They have also said she was brain dead and in a vegetative state. The regular updates from family have stopped now other than one of them making a post to blame social media for misinformation.

So she is now gone but apparently there will be no autopsy despite all the fuss about negligence. Very peculiar. And the family have all gone silent on it as well.

No wonder the medical facility wants an autopsy. I'm no supporter of this type of surgery or anything but this surgeon and the medical centre have been dragged across the internet. You can understand why they'd want answers, even if the family now doesn't. There's a limit to what they can say about the situation under HIPAA but the husband has been out there making all sorts of claims that they can't address or respond to, claims that have probably been damaging for business. Saw this happening with the Beth Martin 'stolen heart' case as well.

I think if there was no medical insurance the GFM would have been set up just after diagnosis rather than death. Life insurance

Would it even be possible to get life insurance when you have cancer ? Even in the Uk my Mum struggled to get travel and life insurance when she had cancer even though she had existing policies, and I can only imagine America is much worse.

In the UK you can get life insurance after a cancer diagnosis, it's not as much as it would be if you was healthy getting it and the monthly payments are normally triple aswell. Not sure about USA though

That’s what I thought. I was scammed out of £145 for concert tickets. I was buying ticket etc etc. Anyway I sent screenshots, all messages and evidence and I did all the right things but the scam was very sophisticated the bank said and I was refunded the amount. I also get £145 is very different to 75k

Just to update on this one. The mum of the little boy who was run over has opened a 2nd gofundme (after making nearly £12k on the funeral one) to crowdfund her … to buy her own house with a garden so she can bury him there

In the article I read, it says she currently has to travel an hour to visit his grave. I’m not sure why that is as she lives in Margate and there is a cemetery there which has plots available. There’s also another one in Ramsgate. Both are a short walk from a bus stop.

I think I saw that she lives in Canterbury. I’m sure Barham have space? Or maybe it’s just cremations there

Cancelled flights are rescheduled by the airlines. They also handle hotels and basic food ( like breakfast in hotel and a voucher for an evening meal to a certain amount or from a specific menu). Also travel to and from hotel to airport are covered.
How long are they "stuck" there cos usually it's like 1 or 2 nights max, unless it's crazy icy weather.
Is there something else going on?

From what I can gather they was meant to come home last week but they had there flight rescheduled to this week and by the sounds of it that may have been cancelled too. Apparently can buy a government seat on a flight for £500pp but they may not go ahead!
