Its an odd one but the reason I find it significant , as a wife is....he was at a hotel.
If he didnt drink...he was there for something else... not sure why the cops were that invested but its probably a normal line of enquiry.

Surely a quick visit to the hotel by the guards, pull up the cctv, you have your answer. Article seems to confirm the accident happened around 4.30 so that’s a good chunk of time to be accounted for.

I find this hard to take tbh, my husband is a musician, fairly well known in Ireland and there is 11 years between us, we met when I was in my teens and him in his 30s, I was a fan of his music before we got together. The thoughts of him dying and being vilified for the age difference between us knocks me sick. Would I like my children to do repeat the process? Probably not, but we're together decades and have multiple childer and a happy marriage, not everything has to be a controversy. If he was creeping around young girls then yes of course that's wrong but with Marketa, she was 19, and his wife was well of age. I just don't think every big age gap needs to be put down as being a PDF.

New member, as long as your husband acted appropriately and didn’t say he fell in love with a 13 year old I think you’ll be ok. For your case, you’ve said there is 11 years between you. He was in his ‘30s’?! So that would make you 19, 20, 21?? You’re an adult. Not the same thing at all.
I definitely saw a news article where it was revealed. Hotel staff said they would not comment whether he had checked in and was staying for the night or visiting someone. But then later the article was edited and the hotel bit removed. Well luckily enough this thread isn't about you and your husband. Or even age gap relationships. It's about a man who essentially groomed a 13 year old and that seems to be the tip of the iceberg.
I remembered reading that another location in the area had been asked by the family not to comment, out of respect for their privacy.
I took it to mean another location apart from the Wren's Nest pub, unless I misunderstood:

So he did go somewhere else after the pub. As soon as people started saying they couldn't comment on it, it was obvious but this just confirms it.
As for the guy who found him, depending on how long he had been lying, there was likely nothing else he could have done. At least he did what he could. I have seen videos of people either passing accident sites where people needed help or stopped to film as the victim died.
He had a reputation for picking up women, even in recent years.
His poor wife.
