Getting Money back from the bank

3 weeks ago when transferring money from my savings to my taxfree childcare account. Unfortunately I sent the money to my credit card instead. I should’ve done the sensible thing and sent the money to my tax-free childcare account instead but I asked Lloyd’s to transfer it straight to the tax-free childcare account. They told me it would be there within in 3 working days.

3 weeks later, 14 phone calls, 28 different Lloyd’s representatives, 1 lot of compensation I am no closer to getting my money back. I have been told repeatedly it will be there in 3 days, tomorrow, Monday. I’m not sure where I can go from here. It’s a substantial amount of money for me and I really would like it back.

Luckily my mum lent me the money to pay my childcare bill but it was still stressful paying late.

Have you made a formal complaint to the bank? That would be the first step to take. If they don’t resolve it, or they resolve it but you’re still unhappy about what’s happened, you can raise a complaint with the financial ombudsman service

I have made an official complaint and received compensation- I filed another one today.

MoneySavingExpert have a service called Resolver and they are brilliant. Look it up, I have used them 3 times after months of going back and forth with an airline, Currys and a bank and within days it was sorted.

I’m going to try that! It’s still rattling on. I’m living of credit at the moment 😰 and owe my mum £160.
