I also attended these shows so we would have crossed paths for sure! Loved when he opened the new Wembley - we had great seats in the lower tier and for the 2nd night up in the nosebleeders but it was so worth it!

I was a huge Wham! fan and my gay uncle told me at the time of their split that it was due to George being gay so I've always known he was - it was not a shock when he was finally outed! My mum denied me from seeing Wham! when they came to Bournemouth as she was absolutely disgusted with George shoving shuttlecocks down his shorts and not something a young teenager should be seeing! Cut to George releasing A Different Corner and suddenly my mum is his biggest fan - she got to be front row for the first night of Live 25 at Earls Court. I kept reminding her of what she said but she claimed not to remember!

We were away for Christmas and I was woken in the early hours by my phone pinging continuously. Friends knew how much I adored George and I cried myself back to sleep that night.

Kissing A Fool is my all time fav George and was lucky enough to see him perform it a few times.

I'll always remember the Royal Opera House gig and passing Marcus Wareing (chef) on the escalator - wow his piercing blue eyes you could dive into!
To be fair, regular twit and loud mouth Boy George had outed him back in about 1983?

Although this quote is interesting and sounds legitimately like some George would say.

No but that interview and quote of his changed my life! It’s a bit of a me-rail, but it hopefully shows how him being so open helped other people.

(I’m just going to copy and paste what I said on the LGB thread about this, sorry)

It helped me make sense of my sexuality. I kind of feel the same was he did, but the other way around. I really fancy some men, but with women it’s a whole other level, there’s the attraction but also the emotional connection in relationships that I never felt with men.

(this is George’s quote)

Before that I’d not really got my head around my bisexuality, but then it gave me clarity, I wish I’d realised sooner but emotionally it doesn’t work for me + a man in a relationship, I wish I’d realised sooner, but thanks to George speaking about this, its really helped.

Aww yes!!! 💯

I really love Outside. The song and the video are amazing in their own right, but the cultural impact! He’d just been outed and the press clearly wanted him to feel ashamed, and he just went, “no, I’m going to have FUN with this”.

I honestly think that video is one of the most punk rock things to happen in popular music.
BIB - for real. Which actually fits in with who George is/was rather than the glossed up version he was spun as. Anyone who out indies Morrissey, the misery guts, had to have a lot of depth and he certainly wasn't shallow.

I never knew he was attracted to women too. Nobody that I’m aware of anyway has ever done a kiss and tell. I bet he was a good and kind lover x

I'm off to FastLove this week. I know it's not George himself but as it's as close as I'm going to get, I'll take it. Even being surrounded by other Georgeaholics will be a great treat 💃🏼

We had the best time, absolutely loved it.

There is a guy Fabrizio Levita who has a collection of Yog songs titled Celebrating The Hits of George Michael & Wham.

I typically play GM all day every day, I never tire of his voice.

Yet my household members have other thoughts about my obsession 🙃 which is when I will play the alternative to GM; but still GM songs with a different voice.

Fabrizio's album of songs is really soothing and definitely worth a listen.

Disclaimer: No-one will ever replace George.

George seems like he was a really lovely person. I am a bit young to have appreciated him at the time, and I didnt really know a lot of his music until I watched the film ' Last Christmas', and I suddenly realised that I had been hearing his music all my life and had never connected it as being the same person.

I really enjoyed watching George Michael night on BBC 2 a few months ago. I found the documentary very moving, especially the part when he talked about singing at a memorial concert for Freddie Mercury and at the same time he knew his partner was dying but he was unable to tell anyone.

Oh, I forgot to post this 🤦🏼‍♀️

I thoroughly enjoyed FastLove last night. The main fella is a good showman and his backup band are very strong. Would happily see them again but not on a Friday night after work whilst sober. It was a very mega huns audience, not a bad thing, just wasn't in the right frame of mind for it.

@TheStrawberryThief I think his discretion at the time of the Freddie Mercury tribute was one of the most heartbreaking things to hear about, never mind live through 😔

My aunt was in her early 20s when Wham first came out and was a huge fan and because she played them constantly...it rubbed off and I became a fan myself even when he went solo.

What's sad is for a long time before he died, his talent was ignored and instead, he was seen as a laughing stock by many in the media and some of the public because of some of the things that had happened to him. He was also slated because a pic of him was posted just a few months before he died and he had clearly gained a lot of weight so the porky comments started as well.

Then when he passed, there were so many two-faced reporters who had slated him, claiming they had been rooting for him which was clearly BS. I would say I hope they felt bad when it came out just how kind he had actually been and unlike so many, he wasn't doing it for the pats on the back or attention. Then again, I doubt they did because they never do.

We must have been lucky when we saw it because it seemed to be mainly couples and small groups, no mega huns 🤣
My friend and I are off to see Rob Lamberti on Wednesday 6th December, ready for Last Christmas 😁

I'm going to see Rob again in April, I'm amazed at how many shows he does, it's pretty full on isn't it?

Have a fantastic time!!😊❤💯🎶

BTW, Wham fan from the start, my entire teens from start to finish, and my life til now in my early 50s have George as a soundtrack.
He is so incredibly missed😔

Rob has just announced his tour for next year as well. 30 years of being George.
We never see him with his band, he does smaller gigs at The Concorde near Eastleigh and they are great.

I was up in the balconies. But also, tired and sober. Not the thing when everyone is having a Christmas night out or what have you. (I did have someone flip their hair in my face which might have set the tone for me).

I've booked again for April😊🎶❤
Have fun!
Honestly some of the women are dressed up like they are waiting for the real George.
There's some proper Stans here.
We have seats just to the side of the stage and I'm going to dance all night 💃

Do they have the CHOOSE LIFE tees on?! Lol
There was a lot of sequins.
Best night for ages, danced all night then got a bit weird when he was getting a bit pervy with a young girl. She was on stage dancing with him and he was singing to her. So odd 🥴
