"Metropolitan Police officer Sgt James Lewis, of the emergency response unit at Charing Cross, said Miss Reddington-Romanov's fall into the water was witnessed by people who crowded round the spot on Westminster Bridge just after 3am on September 21.
The government's security CCTV control centre was alerted too when the crowd was spotted peering into the darkened waters by operators.
Sgt Lewis said officers were on scene by 3.28am, two marine units were ordered as well as a police helicopter which was later stood down.
'Natasha couldn't be seen,' he said.
'It was a fast-moving tide.'
He said the body of a man dressed in women's clothing resurfaced eight hours later and attempts to identify the individual began. "

Another excellent article talking about how the civil service, public sector bureaucracies and quangos effectively control public policy even if such policies don't reflect the actual views of the general public. It talks specifically about gender ideology but is also applicable to other causes that institutions cling to no matter how out of step they are with public opinion:

The Telegraph:

I love this quote from The Telegraph article. Upton is a man who claims to be a woman.
Thats the whole sorry situation in a nutshell. Upton is no different from any other man. He claims he’s a woman, but he doesn’t look like a woman, he doesn’t act like a woman. He looks like a smug, creepy man. And a man is exactly what he is

What does he think, they put a TRA at the head of the EHRC and they misrepresent the law and there aren't any repercussions?
The EHRC doesn't have whatever role he thinks they do. This is why the extended consultation was a misstep because its led to people thinking that the EHRC has a role other than setting out what the legislation is.

I'm sure transphobes are not well people but being gender critical does not make someone a transphobe.

"“So if we can bring the debate back into being one based on rationalism and compassion – and actually as we know, the facts – I think that’s a much better place for all of us to be.
“What we can’t be, is we can’t look like the alternative version of the transphobes. The best argument against them is a conversation with them, because they look swivel eyed and honestly, they’re not very well people, I don’t think, the ones that I’ve met."

Theres a reason one side wanted debate and the other side avoided it like the plague, when I think of the court cases of the last few years I can't think of a single gender critical person who was not able to rationally explain their position and a single TRA who was able to explain their position. If hes volunteering for conversations I'm sure Helen Joyce, Julie Bindel, Maya Forstater etc would happily have a videoed conversation with him so he can point out how rational the TRA position is

I love a well-reasoned argument based on facts rather than mindless emotional manipulation and prejudice.

Tim, dear - we"transphobes" would love to have a conversation. Sadly, TRAs won't engage with us swivel-eyed loons ("loons" wasn't articulated, but I felt it was implied) because they have nothing concrete to back up their claims and are reduced to threats, demands that we "educate ourselves"*, and then storming out of the room because they "don't feel safe".

And how anyone could look at a massed TRA mob howling and screeching outside a building where women are gathered to discuss a women-related problem, and see the women as the "not very well people" - well - have you thought about a trip to SpecSavers?

*We have educated ourselves - that's how we know that biology is real.
