This is my favourite of all the piss-takes of Isla Bumba.

I mean, seriously? She doesn’t know if she (i.e herself) is a woman, but she does know that the man she referred to as ‘he’ while being questioned in court is a woman, because he says he is.

How can someone so stupid manage to get out of her own front door of a morning?

But I thought that the TRA's arguments was that once a person takes cross-sex hormones the hormones flood their bodies so that they start to resemble the opposite sex on a cellular level. So Chromosomes no longer matter.

This is one "Trans" person's view on defining sex.

For her sake, I hope Bumba isn't perusing the papers this evening because if she has even the slightest bit of self-awareness, she should be mortified by the stories which are completely excoriating her. The Times is going all in on this story today:

How can you find insufficent evidence of misconduct and still think someone should have a reflective practice discussion? To my mind thats trying to imply that she did something wrong.

Also why say no formal sanctions have been imposed, no tit, you didn't have evidence she did anything wrong.

Just reading through the days proceedings Isla Bumba isn't even a good TRA, she made several cardinal sins in her testimony, misgendering, implying there is any sort of biological basis for sex, acknowledging GC beliefs are a thing etc.

I just don't get what her job is, like she stated she was getting a lot of questions about trans issues but also no policy was in place for trans staff members so there was no impact assessment done, thats your job how can you justify there being no policy like what was she doing with her time. I would have thought her role was to assist HR and oversee their job in relation to DEI issues whereas she seemed to just refer anything contentious to them.

I say this as someone who didn't watch proceedings but read tribunal tweets so maybe someone who watched would have a different perspective but I think NC played it really well, she didn't come off as goady or hectoring and let some ridiculous statements just stand rather than digging in. I think it would be very easy to come off as bullying against someone like IB who seems a bit hard of thinking.

The best gotcha I think was the email signature because why pick stating you're an ally to one protected characteristic while also in meetings claiming to acknowledge you're aware GC viewpoints exist and have to be respected

Yes, that’s disgraceful: we’re annoyed that we weren't able to prove the vexatious allegations against you, but we think you should go away and think about your behaviour anyway, and allow us to tell you why we think you should do what we think you should do.

That seems to be the common denominator with these husbands. Utter selfishness and expectation that their wives should just carry on as normal.

We have an EDI officer at work - I don’t know what he does but u suspect it is a lot of pandering and polishing his pronouns (he/him). Sadly for him I don’t think we have any trans staff members to champion, our bathrooms are definitely single sex and we have openly gay employees at all levels of management. I can note that they do need to work on disabled accessibility, our building has ramps and lifts but the door with a ramp is labelled for deliveries and you need to buzz in, the main door is revolving which I don’t like as a walking person (who once got trapped in one).

From reading about the proceedings, I think so too.
NC seems to have just let some of the absolute rubbish that IB said, just basically speak for itself.

The statement by IB that she doesn't know whether she (IB) is a man or a woman... well, I think that alone said it all.

On a different topic. Ive been reading Rebecca Humphries "why did you stay" as i've gone through a pretty bad breakup recently, and I've been trying to read to get my head around stuff and put myself back together a bit. It wasn't actually bad, writing wasn't wonderful, but tolerable, until completely unprovoked and out of context she goes on about 'trans women have it worse'. Ummmm what now. Was this pandering to toxic men needed in a book about getting over toxic MEN?? Anyway, i never do this after reading, but its on its way back to amazon, even if it is only a six quid refund.

OT: anyone got any good book recommendations for me?

In the case of this topic, Trans Women are Women, and are allowed to infringe whatever rights of others they want, in the name of diversity.
