Keana Settle from the Last Showman was on Loose Women earlier (don't judge, I'm not working at the moment) and explaining about a new Princess Diana musical where Princess Di will be played by a bunch of drag queens (no, me neither). Mariella Frostrup asked why she was being played by drag queens and was given the standard answer with bollocks about love and inclusivity etc etc.. Frostrup did not look convinced - I reckon she's a TERF.

So if it’s genuinely about inclusivity, how come “Diana” isn’t being played by a hearing-impaired actor/ess, a visually-impaired actor/ess, a wheelchair-using actor/ess, an actor/ess with Down syndrome, a Black actor/ess, etc., etc?

How is it “inclusive” to have one of the most famous women of modern history portrayed on stage solely by men dressed as parodies of women?

I posted on the last thread about a FB group that I left after seeing comments by handmaidens, in response to a post bemoaning the erasure of the word "woman".
What was so tragic was the sheer volume of replies from women, all nodding in agreement, trying to flaunt their #bekind credentials in increasingly desperate ways. It was all "Urgh, I hate terfs" or "Why can't they just let people (i.e. men ) live their lives in peace?". I must admit, my favourite, which was posted quite a few times by different group members, was "Why don't they just remove the word Woman, so that everyone (i.e. men ) feels safe?"

We know it's sometimes difficult to have these conversations with loved ones or with friends, but even if your parents do "gossip" about you, it's obvious that even they know, deep down, that you're not wrong about this, and I'm also certain that they don't think that you're a bigot.
It's very telling that your mum is well aware of the epidemic of violence against women, and that your dad noticed the odd rise in sudden transgenderism amongst secondary school girls. They're so nearly there, aren't they? They just need someone to tip them over the edge. Once they realise how harmful this ridiculous men's rights movement is to women and girls, they'll come round to your way of thinking. Considering a lot of ( if not most) TIM claim to be lesbians, they still have exactly the same outlook on women as any other man. In fact, it’s likely worse, considering their fetishes.

Another thing about TIM I’ve seen discussed is how well they pass. It’s such a red herring, because whether they look like Les Dawson in drag or actually manage to pass, it doesn’t change the fact that every cell in their bodies have XY chromosomes, they have been exposed to male levels of testosterone and they are MEN.

So I have just learned from a third party that my non-binary daughter has legally changed (abbreviated) her name. Her name is a beloved family name and was her late Grandmothers (my mother’s) family name through generations. She has also removed her middle name which was gender neutral anyway. Deadnaming works both ways. I’ve just had to tell her Grandfather (my father). I have not spoken to her since she learnt of my approval of the SC ruling. I am in shock. How would you react to this?

I wonder if this book shop looks into the personal lives of every single author they currently sell and stops selling their stuff . There are going to be authors out there who are actually into nefarious things behind the scenes, have they looked to make sure none have ever done anything remotely illegal or immoral. Or is it they just don't like women who stand up for other women and won't be pandered over men.

It's just demosntrative of how the rules are wholly disregarded for this supposedly most oppressed group.

Sport baffles me.

It's rooted in the concept of fairness. Even within same-sex there can be categories, such as weight in boxing. Otherwise Muhammad Ali could have demanded to fight in the featherweight category. In other sport, West Ham could demand to play in League 3. Handicaps in Golf? Who needs them??
And my favourite is the marathon - let's get rid of the wheelchair category and these athletes can compete with the runners. They'll win every time, but hey - anything goes, right?

So no, sports has rules and structure to create as fair a system as possible - but we then allow men to compete against women and that's okay??

It's not simply a matter of whether they win or not. They are taking a place away from a woman. Sharron Davis is passionate about this, and explains how women's sport gets just a fraction of the money that men's do and how allowing in men is disadvantaging women even more.

I always come back to something Ross Tucker said, I'm going to butcher it but basicaly it was that Oscar Pistorius had to prove before he was allowed to compete in the Olympics that his blades did not give him an advantage and nobody asked the same of Laurel Hubbard.

If transmen were competing at the highest level it would have been shut down so quickly.

Look at this vile performance. I’d hate It myself, but totally inappropriate “entertainment” for elderly people, many of whom probably have mobility issues and can’t get away from it. “Turn around, walk out the door” is exactly how I’d be respond to being subjected to that.

When are people going to realise that grown men promoting books and tat to young children that ‘affirm’ sex, kinks, body mutilation and trusting strangers is grooming in plain sight. I couldn’t watch that pair of fuck bags, simpering, insincere stupid LK, and vile Boy George. One thing that hits home is that as child, I absolutely loathed girls toys. I liked building things, toy cars, probably more nerdy male interests, and in the current thinking, they would say I must be a boy ( my parents would have absolutely resisted this). Even now my interests are more typically male but at no point in my life have I ever felt like, or wanted to be a man. It’s so fucking regressive that little girls are “sugar and spice and all things nice” and boys, “slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails”. Men can be more feminine, girls and women don’t have to like fashion and beauty. It’s just so backward thinking.
They are always banging on about being your authentic self. Well, accept that everyone is different.

Yes that's a very good point. Boy George saying about little girls who don't act like little girls possibly being trans. Not just that there are all sorts of girls. It's people like him who think they're so liberal who actually have very rigid views of what constitutes male and female.

This is what will always be upsetting about Izzard.
I was a huge fan, have been for over 30 years. He was always so adamant he was not a woman, he was a very proud transvestite and man. One of his earliest stand up routines was the 'Don't call me Tracey' rant. He had been beaten up quite badly and repeatedly called 'Tracey' whilst it happened. He, like all comedians who had something awful happen to them, turned it into a very funny stand up. I've seen him do it live and watched it on dvd a load of times.
Throughout his career he was very vocal about just being a bloke in a dress and that he was not a woman.
God knows what happened but he's just a sad creature these days.
