How are the theatre group going to do a Harry Potter play without anything to do with JK Rowling it is all copyrighted so how is that going to work? I am confused.
If they are that sensitive then maybe they should just do another play.
edit: ah, 'twas a joke, I now realise.

I think it is evidence of the insane times we live in, that the most ridiculous pee-takes on this topic are so often taken seriously.

I didn't mistake this one, but I have made the error in the past. There have been a lot of posts where I've really had to think. It's impossible to lampoon the trans situation, because it is so farcical IRL that it is barely possible to take it a step further into parody. Whatever exaggeration is attempted, someone will have already tried or is considering trying.

We are living in a farce.

Even Captain Bertorelli, notorious indiscriminate sex-pest, wouldn't be taken in by this "bee-yooo-tiful lye-dee". Lieutenant Gruber's little tank* has more sex appeal.

*For the benefit of non-Brits - this is not a euphemism.

Ha ha I love this post. My little 1ltr car is called my 'little tank' with Gruber's voice in mind.

Someone on X noticed this on the base of the stumps at the England v India Test match at Headingley yesterday. Absurd.

I think when we’re at the stage that saying “pregnant women “ is considered offensive, we really have passed a stage beyond parody. Men never have given birth and never will. We all know this. Anyone choosing to get pregnant is doing something exclusively female. There are no exceptions. If you chose to “identify” as male, then have a baby, you are not living as your chosen gender ( not that i believe any of this chosen gender crap anyway). It’s like the emperors new clothes with people tip toeing around and pretending the impossible is true not to cause offence or be cancelled. But surely, no one honestly believes it deep down? It’s ridiculous and it’s dishonest, and just shows how people can be maniputed into accepting anything, however downright stupid it is.

I think it may be more directed at the non binary crowd, but women saying they’re non binary and would prefer to be called a ‘pregnant person’ are young teens in the majority (and even that majority’s tiny) and they’re unlikely to be pregnant. 🙄

"Pregnant people" is what peaked me. I've never been pregnant, but by god that word is mine, and every other woman's, and they are not taking it off us. The younger members of the movement to repeal the abortion ban in Ireland - who weren't even born when I started marching about it - were all mad pronoun pioneers. I was angry about them saying "some men need abortions too" as if we'd have banned it if men were affected, but I thought best grit my teeth and save it up for after we win. Unfortunately, when we won, that lot thought they were the queens of Ireland and they must be right about everything, and they diverted all their marching energy to full gender insanity. They have been insufferable ever since, and have no idea how much they resemble the Church they think they have beaten; they are a pious, sanctimonious, vindictive cult.

Same here. I realised that particular one was a joke but equally ridiculous stuff is actually going on. So I end up second guessing myself at times. Madness, absolute madness.
