I was always Team Robbie but went off him in recent years. Last time I saw him live was 2013. It was brilliant but he’s such a bellend off stage.

Gary did a documentary while Robbie was at the height of his success and before TT did all their comebacks. He was very bitter on the subject of Robbie’s success and came across badly.

I went to one of the reunion gigs. It was very much Robbie’s show. TT did a few of their hits as a 4 piece at the start, which was good though the place then erupted when Robbie came onstage.

I love Take That but have never warmed to GB or his solo career. I can never understand how he can write such amazing tunes for TT but his solo stuff is so awful! Also, one of his eyebrows is constantly trying to escape his face, it's very distracting when you're watching TT DVDs

Having said all that, many many years ago a friend and I trekked to his house on a frozen winter's afternoon and stood outside it for a bit (I want to stress that I would never do this normally, but I felt I should accompany her as she was 16 and on her own in a foreign country as she had come over from America.) He came out to talk to us and was very friendly despite the fact that we were basically stalking him, so I'll always think well of him for that. It made my friend's day as Gary was her fave! (Mark and Robbie are the ones for me )
I was watching the Now 90s channel last night and they played Child by Mark Owen, what a blast from the past that was! Funny how you forget a song, hear it and you’re suddenly back 25 years

I genuinely think Mark is massively underrated as a singer and songwriter. I think he is vastly more talented and original than Gary! By rights he should be hugely respected as an artist in his own right, especially after his last two solo albums, but he's just written off 'cos he comes from a boy band. I would kill for a new solo album and tour from Mark!

(once tours can happen again of course, whenever that may be...)

Each to their own. I think he sounds like a hamster on helium.

FFS he's on my show Saturday Kitchen - hope he gets Hell choice

🤨🤔🤣
Also I think he exaggerates his northern accent to be more relatable A la cilla black

Each to their own as you say, and while I obviously disagree, I must take exception to the suggestion that Mark sings like he's on helium as he actually has the deepest vocal range of all the TT boys! When Gary sings lead, it's Howard who does the high notes while Mark sings the lower harmonies. Whether that's in a hamsterish style or not I can't comment however as I've yet to hear a hamster sing

Fair enough. I think he's got one of the worst singing voices I've ever heard.

I saw the Million dreams duet he did with Jane Mc Donald she sounded great..him not so much.

He was better than Cheryl at that Queen jubilee concert. But then anyone would, even me.... She was shockingly bad singing live. Worth a Google for a laugh!

My husband is a massive music snob, but even he admits that Four Minute Warning is an absolute banger.

Mark is so weird these days, I don’t know what happened to him. One minute he was still boyish and handsome, then two years later he’d lost loads of weight, grew his hair straggly and grew a hideous moustache. Tragic.

Howard on the other hand is a proper Covid denier 😳

Gary is a product of his upbringing. He started out in working mens clubs and the cheesiness never left him. I know he’ll never live down the tax avoidance, but he wrote about it in his book and basically said “someone said I could save money if I entered his scheme so I agreed”. I don’t think he’s shrewd enough to have woken up one day and thought “I know, I’m going to avoid paying tax!” he was just advised by someone to do it, and went with it.

His solo stuff is rubbish. He’s a talented and prolific songwriter but he really needs Take That to rein in the big band tit.

I went off Mark when I say him on some show on E4 (this was after take that broke up and before they reformed) I can’t remember the name of the show, but a fan came on to meet him and he was unbelievably rude and down right nasty for no reason to her so much so that it was uncomfortable viewing. You could tell the girl was hurt, he came across as a moody grumpy tit. I went right off him after that and I don’t buy his “nice guy act either” with his fake laugh, way too sweet.

I prefer Gary over creepy little Mark Owen, he gives me the same skin crawly vibe as Joey from NKOTB, and I don’t know why.
