First impressions: what do you notice?

What are the first things you notice about someone when meeting them for the first time (and subconsciously or consciously form your first impression on)?

For me, it's:
  1. Eyes
  2. Teeth
  3. Mannerisms

I forgot to say scent ... too much is awful; just enough is intriguing (and a person's choice speaks volumes about their personality for me).

My business partner is immaculately turned out ... she always looks impeccable but works hard - she brushes her teeth three times a day, has facials every week, has her hair professionally coloured and trimmed every month, does pilates twice-daily ... and people love her upon first impression (after the fact, too - she's lovely). She nearly always wears the same combination of white shirt, scarf (alternates them every day), black dress trousers and black heels, but never fails to look a million bucks. Oh, and she smells great too (has a perfume especially made for her by a perfumery [a man operating from a little shop in the middle of nowhere - he moved here from France and is really good [expensive though]).

I'd love to look that good but must be too lazy or something! When I remember to do so, I use a straw when drinking tea and coffee to avoid teeth stains.

I notice if I get a ' feeling' about some people, like if my instinct kicks in

Their shoes ( especially women)

It's common for me to have met someone and not remember what they look like, just snippets that I can't recall who they belonged to.

I think it’s more a feeling/vibe and overall presentation/manners than one specific thing.

One of the last people I worked with just screamed, " I'm a twit " from the get go. The day I spent with her she constantly bitched and tried to bully me. Later I heard she ran me down as lazy and stupid.

I spoke to the boss and requested I never be on the same shift as her or I'd have to her lights out.

Aside from the general "connection" vibe you get from someone. .
If it were down to aesthetics alone, mine would be
Height ( big factor for me at 5ft 9 . Dislike a shorter partner )
Teeth
Nails ( dirty or bitten .. big NO )
SHOES ( Ijust like nice shoes)
Smell
