‘explosive diarrhoea’ outbreak

Various news outlets are reporting on UK holidaymakers being warned about a nasty infectious disease called cyclosporiasis that can cause explosive diarrhoea, after a ‘sharp rise in cases’.

The numbers currently seem very small though and would love to know how people with the people know they’ve got this to report it, and not norovirus or bog standard (pun intended) food poisoning or whatever?

Exactly, I had an explosive episode yesterday but I have diverticular disease and this happens every so often, fortunately I made it home so not as bad as it could have been.

As someone who already has pre-existing stomach issues, getting something like this is my worst nightmare.

There's the thing in the US with their explosive diarrhoea outbreak too, though theirs has been linked to the fast food chain Taco Bell and a specific source of lettuce.
