I didn't see a thread dedicated to animals, so thought I'd start one, especially heartwarming, interesting and/or funny animal content.

I've recently been watching this lady's channel on YouTube and her content is great. Such majestic animals:

I always found it fascinating how we as humans have been able to tame dangerous animals, even if raised by humans its still crazy.

I love Safari Sammie! This is one of my favourite of hers, Danger Boops.

Also a big fan of gorillas, especially the dad gorillas and how patient they are with the little ones.

Aww lovely videos, I always remember that one of a lion think he was called Christian who was looked after by a couple of blokes, then they went back to see him in the wild and he recognized them, bloody heartwarming.

Can I include birds in this thread? Was just outside thinking it's April, wonder when the swallows will arrive, they really fascinate me how they come back every year, how they journey from Africa, they're probably on the way somewhere now!

Oh, yes I love birds! I'm lucky enough to live in a part of Australia that has kookaburras, galahs and cockatoos everywhere. They're loud but gorgeous.

We do! This is a pair of (I think) sulphur crested cockatoos near my house.

Gorgeous! We got a pair of doves here, the boy is quite friendly they have a nest in the tree next to us, but they really aren't good parents, apparently doves lay eggs all through the year, if the egg survives and a chick hatches, when the chick gets to a size, it normally falls out the nest, it's left there until it can fly, I've tried to save at least 4 over the years, as they've been left out in cold and rain, and I'm a proper softy and worry about them!

I saw some rats yesterday, I found them quite fascinating so I hope it's ok to post about them here. I was at a big park doing an easter trail, at the edge of the park is field with horses . There were rats coming out of the undergrowth , running across the path and going into the horse field . It looks like people have been given the horses apples , so the rats were probably after food .

I hate rats, years ago when we kept chickens, their feed was in a bin with a lid on in the shed, when hubby went to scoop feed out, there was a rat in there and it bit him, so he had to go hospital for a tetanus as the bite can cause wells disease.

Anyone else seen this? I've seen it a handful of times at this point, but always amuses me. Someone mentioned rats, but this is great. It's funny how the magpies are trying to follow the action. I am just imagining them instigating the fight, lol.

This is a nice little watch. A video talking about rewilding in Britain. It's a great channel too, it focuses on the environment, but includes animal content as well.

I wish I could get some footage of the possum who lives in our backyard. They're nocturnal so we never see her, only hear her making those horrible dying pig noises possums do.
On very hot nights I put water out for her and sometimes cut up fruit and leave it near her tree.
I only know she's a female as I saw one of her babies once.

I've never come across a possum in real life. They always creeped me out a little with how they looked, lol, but recently I've seen various clips of them interacting with humans and they seem quite docile. They carry quite a few babies, right?

I think so, yes. My brother lives in the Northern Territory and has some friendly possums. They come right up to the house to get some bread or fruit, they even have names like Thomas and Jeremy.
One turned up with a baby sugar glider on her back, where she found it I don't know!
Brother also has wallabies and kangaroos on his property, roos are scary but the wallabies are sweet.
