Does anyone else find it cringe when influencers set their phone up and have cute moments with their partner away from where the phone is, but knowing the phone is there

The one where showed what she did at work - write the newsletters for example.
I remember that video. She seemed so proud about that task when it was such a bulls*it thing to do for someone with a law degree.

Did anyone else notice how her attitude towards Linklaters has changed? She used to praise the company in every video. In her recent video, she said that there was only one department she could imagine working in and that she was thinking about applying elsewhere. Those 2 years must have been horrible then... This would also explain why she has never completed her "law diary" series.

It's a pity that the "trainee diaries" didn't continue; since it really was well done, shot, and edited, and it was still in "her style". I think the lockdown and work from home could have provided some interesting material for at least one or two more episodes (I mean she showed bits of it in the "3-day self-isolation productivity vlog" and the recent video about her WFH desk setup; but I think it's a pity that the series didn't continue considering how grandiose the intro was lol). So there might have been some reason behind it.
The "deep" videos are just not it.

Lol maybe because she is so woke these days she feels like a corporate sellout working for them

Does anyone remember the post on here that said that no one wanted to work with her? Having you write the newsletter is an indication that because no one wants to work with her, she’s stuck doing these kinds of things. But as she seemed to enjoy it, you may think she did not go in the right field at all… I feel slightly sorry for her. Also, why was it that no one wanted to work with her?

the thing is with these big magic circle firms is for the most part you’re a very small cog in a big wheel, you dont get to go the interesting and exciting tasks and you’re often doing the grunt work. You don’t actually get good training. I reckon she really struggled with the intense corporate lifestyle of Linklaters, she obviously didn’t enjoy her training contract, it wouldn’t surprise me if she qualifies and then moves firm shortly after

Didn’t she specialise in Corporate law too? Which is coincidentally the highest paying area(?) They really do make you sign your soul away. That must be the most soul destroying thing ever lol

Plus, if you work at a much smaller firm, your pay wouldn’t be as good but at least you’ll gain experience, be able to do important interesting tasks and good bonuses if your work is good

Also, why was it that no one wanted to work with her?
People who work in big law are typically quite conservative. Most of the Partners are males who tend to have an outdated image of women. Eve is quirky and loud, and therefore I believe her colleagues and seniors cringe at her videos. I seriously don't understand why she would want to work with such people. At this point, I think she's only in it for the money and prestige.

anybody else find it weird that she hasn’t promoted jacks stationery brand when all of his youtube friends have ?? kinda expected her to post about it too (especially given he’s posted with the MCC hoodie and shared the restock announcement on his story)

Sounds like she started off keen and confident like many graduates (myself included ) only to find the daily grind a bit depressing and soon you stop raving about your workplace when you realise they don't care about you.

I can imagine working for a magic circle firm is quite fast paced and that must be tiring.

She now has outside interests of work too, she has a relationship now so I imagine some of her work is wearing thin

She's mentioned a lot that working from home hit her pretty hard, that could have made her view her role and workplace a lot differently

What do you guys make of her post about not wanting to return to normal normal?

I find it sort of... funny. As I'd understand it, law is one of those fields where you go in expecting to work long hours and possibly miss out on family/friend time. It's not ideal by all means, but at the same time she sort of did sign up for it
