Had to watch it this morning as I knew I couldnt avoid spoilers all day, even though even at 6am I saw a semi spoiler! Why do legacy media insist on doing this? The mini spoiler was before it even aired in the US! 🤬

will put my thoughts into spoiler for anyone who hasnt seen it yet

firstly quite sad about Rue but it’s kinda in line with her character. It just goes to show that unfortunately a lot of addicts do not get the happy ending that they want.

Jules as always was absolutely pointless in this episode in fact the whole season don’t know what the point of her character was in the season to be honest

As much as I dislike Sydney I think her acting was great this season even though her storyline was a bit tit. Not quite sure how I feel about her ending as there wasn’t much to go on.

MADDYYY- i’m so happy for her ending. It seems that all of them she got the happiest ending and I’m glad that Bishop came through for her essentially in the end. I’ll definitely watch a spinoff about her life!

And Ali, who knew he’d be such a key member this season. after not been able to save Rue- i’m glad he avenged her I absolutely adore the actor and I definitely think he deserves some kind of award for this episode

Overall, I think there was just too much going on to wrap up properly and a lot of unanswered questions so I wouldn’t really give it a high rating overall for a season finale but I think that sums up the whole season to be honest

What the hell even was this season… honestly.
It’s hard to even see the link between the first 2 seasons now. Like someone else said, ended up like a Quentin Tarantino movie 🙄

This series man. I think the writers overdid it, they tried too many storylines with too many characters and it kinda felt empty and unanswered, there was sooo much more to explore/develop!

Like we all wanted a Maddy/Nate convo and never got it, what happened to Maddy in the timehop with Alamo, what’s going on with her and Bishop? Why did Bishop do what he did? What’s happening with Jules - she was barely in it. What’s Cassie going to do now? What happened to all the gangsters? How long can she pretend Nate has just disappeared! What about his family? What happened to the DEA, did the cops go after Ali? What happened to Faye and the nazi? I get some has been left open to viewer interpretation but come on!

Also Rue, heartbreaking but we knew it was coming, it was the full circle moment. Sad that people thought she relapsed and I suppose she kinda did, but again that’s real life addiction, how many people have said one won’t hurt. Her ending was probably the most realistic and that’s why it hurt so much!

i’ve watched it now

I actually enjoyed it, it was very moving. Rue’s death was actually really upsetting i thought. The scene of her and Fez 💔 made me tear up, because it obviously happened in real life to him. 😭

I'm so sad for Rue! She escaped death so many times just to die from genuinely taking pain relief. I wish we'd seen the immediate aftermath of Nate's death, obviously Maddy and Cassie haven't told anyone so did they just bury him back in that hole again?

Zendaya, Sydney and Jacob becoming such huge stars from Euphoria was amazing but you can tell that some storylines suffered because of their availability. Sydney seemed to be the one who was around the most. (edit: Sam Levinson has now admitted the cast schedules impacted storylines which is crappy)

The whole Rue/gangsters and drugs storyline didn't really do much for me personally. I enjoyed a lot of the Cassie stuff (even if it was a bit over-sexualised at times), some of the more theatrical moments were really entertaining - I personally enjoyed the godzilla moment. The behind-the-scenes video of it was super interesting (took a year to build out that set!!) and the scene where Nate is getting beaten up and shes hysteric felt like a throwback to the famous hot tub scene from s2.

It's a shame Nate wasn't more involved overall. It was honestly really frustrating watching him get beaten up/hurt/fingers/toes chopped off, then disappear again without much actually happening???? I'd have liked to see a lot more of his relationship dynamic with Cassie, but it felt pretty obvious that Jacob was filming around a very busy schedule and probably wasn't available as much as the story needed :/

IMO Maude Apatow and Alexa Demie were exposed a bit this season in terms of their acting ability. With the high school setting fading away their performances really did feel noticeably weaker compared to some of the other cast members. There is a reason they're not booked and busy and it isnt because they are "lowkey" or whatever, it's because they're just not strong actresses lol. No comment on Hunter since that was the most pointless storyline ever, cant believe faye/chloe cherry was more prominent!!

The ending for Rue was really sad, although not exactly surprising. It was obvious she was going to die. I did think that it was really well-shot the way you slowly realise she's dying and it's a dream.

I felt a bit teary when they did the short tribute to Angus too. His death was just heartbreaking.

Certainly the right time to end the show, but I'm sure they'll try and do some kind of spin off. It would be the easiest money ever since Euphoria is the second most watched show since 2004 by HBO since Game of Thrones. I would be shocked if they dont do something, the built in viewship for Maddy/Alexa Demie could work and wouldn't be too expensive either.
