so as someone who has been removing my hair for years, this is my verdict.

Shaving - painful and annoying, leaves razor bumps and ingrown hairs. It grows back literally within the hour and my boyfriend said as it was growing back (quote), “it feels like I’m fucking a cactus”

hair removal cream- good for a quick job, leaves you smooth, smells a bit, grows back quick too (but longer than shaving)

epilator - the most painful thing ever. Honestly my eyes water when I use it on my legs, so I could NEVER use it on my vag

waxing - best option for temporary hair removal. Leaves you total smooth for about 4-5 weeks for me. Only downsides are: lockdown, no places are open. Also it can get expensive if you go to a good place and they use hot wax (not strip wax). Also it’s painful sometimes
im currently considering laser hair removal because if I keep getting waxes, itll end up being the same price as laser

Gosh, that made me laugh!!

I will probably go with waxing as I have been able to source a couple of places that are open (or will be open after tomorrow I think) and do muffs. Am not bothered about cost, although the idea of the pain is always what makes me wince.

I only took an interest in going smooth quite recently because my g/f had hers done a couple of weeks ago by wax, and it looked really quite "fetching", shall we say.

I will ask her on Zoom tonight if her muff has now become a "fucking cactus!" yet

Some pain to begin with, along with some initial embarrassment having to "reveal all" to the therapist, but she said she's seen it all many times before and not to worry.

Feels a little red and tender down below, but OMG it also feels incredibly smooth too.

Well worth the £35 and mild discomfort

Oh yeah they’re all for spreading the bum cheeks. The reward of being smooth for so long makes up cor the cringe. Also you’re just staring at the ceiling for most of it so can kinda separate yourself. My woman is this amazing Estonian lady who chats about her boyfriend and sex life so you realise we are all just the same!

I know this is TMI and sorry for that but one thing that has always bothered me when hair is all off is the feeling after exercise. I guess hair is there for a reason. I suppose it felt the same as a bald man's sweaty head.

It would be interesting to hear a full report from the waxers after their appointments!

I honestly don’t find it too painful. Think first few times I felt abit tender for maybe the day. So I’d defo give it a day or 2 if you have any fun plans
I believe Hollywood takes in the bum holey but obv you can ask to not have it. Lots of butt spreading which is always a laugh. But most beauticians are pretty chatty so you’ll feel fine.

Oh the indignity of it all for the sake of a bit of vanity

Anyway, I zoomed my g/f and she's still a "billiard ball" and not a "cactus". So that's alright then

you have to come back and update us how you found it!! In my opinion hot wax is way better than strip wax, it’s less painful and apparently lasts longer, and it’s only a bit extra

It is painful at first but you get used to it after a while! I hope your girlfriend loves it!

Let us know how you get on, I have been wanting a wax for ages but keep wimping out at getting my bits out.

Brazilian or Hollywood wax - in and out in 10 mins. I cannot imagine how long an epilator would take down there and how painful it would be!

And do they go anywhere near your bumhole? Not that I have any hairs down there. (Jeez, am I really talking about this at tea time? lol)

no they just make you so funny poses sometimes lol. One woman I want to made me get on all fours, and spread my ass cheeks with my hands if you don’t want your back door doing just tell her and it’ll be fine. I like it all gone though

but yes you go into a private room! Enjoy your tea

It's really not bad and it's over in a flash. If you can stand to epilate your legs, getting a Hollywood wax will be a breeze!

I use Veet which takes the hair right down to a few mm. Probably not supposed to use it all over your noon but I do and have had no issues with the sensitive Veet.

Haha, how can you fancy someone in a visor and a plastic pinny? . That's interesting re: positions, I would have thought a stirrup situation would be really quite graphic.

No idea about positions. I just went with the flow and in this case it was like having a smear test. But I guess each salon has their own ideas of what's best for their punters.

Glad its all done and dusted. Just hope I don't end up with a "fucking cactus" as @ele97 so eloquently described hers on here

I’d bite the bullet and find a really good waxer. There’s very different waxers and types of wax. It’s your best option.
