Emirates - transfering a holiday to another date

Hi everyone,

We have a family holiday to Dubai booked for June this year. We booked it last summer when we stupidly thought covid would be over by now! Anyway we've only paid the deposit and need to pay the rest of the money by march. We are wanting to transfer it to either later in the year or next year. It looks like it can be done on the FAQ of the website.

Before I spend hours on the phone I was just wondering if anyone had done this with Emirates and if it was as straightforward as calling and changing the dates.

Please dont judge...I know there is a lot of hate against Dubai at the moment with the influencers but we've been several times and honestly never found a more child friendly place and nothing like those influencers make it out to be

Thanks

Never done it with Emirates.

Have done it with Air France and Air America and we had to pay to change as the holiday costs were different.

Depending on the cost of that, it may be cheaper to cancel the holiday, lose the deposit and rebook.

We always book holidays that allow free cancellation for a certain period.

Can't you do it on your online booking? I fly Emirates a lot, never actually had to change my flight but I find their customer services line helpful so I can't imagine you will have an issue doing it.

With Covid and (assuming you live in the UK) now a travel ban to the UAE, I doubt you'd have to pay a change fee to change your flights. That generally applies when there's a difference in fare on the flight.
