Dreams and meanings

Is anyone else sometimes really bothered about the dream they've had?
Iv woken up from a very strange dream and its bothering me so need to write it down and get other peoples thoughts.
In my dream I had agreed to adopt some dolphins but I had recently moved and could no longer adopt them. When I went to see them they where put into a bright colourful tank all seemingly happy but then each one rolled onto it's back and refused to turn the correct way up. The tank goes incredibly dark until they look like sharks. I'm absolutely terrified of sharks and in my dream I start to tremble and shake terrified and this is what has woken me up from this dream.
Writing this down I feel like I must sound nuts but I do have a lot of stress and drama going on in my life at the moment and dreams are one topic that have always intrigued me as they seem to be a reflection of that.
Anyone else have very weird and strange dreams or like to break down their meaning?

I love this stuff! My husband hates talking about dreams because he doesn't dream.

Okay let's break this down. It sounds like you're either doing things for other people a lot and you feel enormously guilty for putting yourself and your needs first occasionally. If you put yourself above others then you believe the people in your life will turn on you?

Or you are looking forward to something and you're worried about it going wrong. If this is the case you're probably the sort of person who imagines worse case scenarios?

My dreams are absolutely crazy and vivid and full of things completely random but also events that have happened that day or conversations that were had which leaves me slightly confused the morning after when I wake up as to what actually happened the previous day and what didn’t. As an example, yesterday I noticed my neighbour at their front door pretending to do something but were probably just having a nose at what I was doing. Anyway, my dream last night was that I went to step out my front door and looked to the side and Jeremy Beadle(!!!???) was looking at me from the neighbours front door with a sinister look on his face, so I stepped back inside in shock. I remember in the dream feeling scared by him. Then I went to peek out again but this time he had moved closer and his face was centimetres from mine and it shocked me so much I woke up straight away 😂😅

I don’t understand when people say they don’t dream, like the husband of the poster above! Or that some people don’t dream in colour or don’t have sound in their dreams...what!?

I have no idea how to interpret this Jeremy beadle dream 😂
Yeah my husband says he doesn't dream. I dont understand it because I have very vivid dreams every night. I even dream when I nap! People who dream in black and white always surprise me. Also I have multi lingual friends who have dreams that are in a weird mish mash of languages or even have subtitles!!

Iv has someone close to me who I thought of as a very close friend turn on me over the past few days. So this is bang on!! @Petulant_vlogger
Awh hope you're okay!! I think that person is what's being represented in your dream by the dolphins becoming sharks. Its weighing on your subconscious. Over the next few nights your dreams may offer you a solution to these feelings so be sure to pay attention x

I have the most vivid dreams every night and they either reflect what I’ve watched (e.g. the walking dead so will have a full on zombie apocalypse dream) or work anxiety dreams, with someone telling me how rubbish I am 😂

I often have dreams that seem to predict things. It’s quite weird and I know it must be a coincidence but sometimes it’s very uncanny! It’s usually nothing important either, but something random like a lace breaking on my shoe 😂 If I could predict major world events it would definitely be more useful! Oh I did dream one of my friends was pregnant 2 weeks before I found out (but they were trying so not completely random). I’ve also been given information in dreams that’s been sat in my brain somewhere - it’s hard to describe but imagine you had been trying so hard to remember something then someone in your dream comes up to you and tells you. I love it when that happens!

I wish I had dreams that predict things. I get really bad anxiety dreams so it'll be people being sick (I'm scared of sick) or people being annoyed with me, arguing with someone. I hate them

With anxiety dreams something that might help you to know is that sometimes our brains are giving us time to practice scenarios. So if you have a dream about someone being annoyed with you you have a "practice run" to find out how you would feel in that situation or how you would react. Then your brain plays out the scenario and learns from it. So you're actually better prepared for if it ever does happen.

oh that's interesting! They always pop up when I'm in an anxious situation e.g big life changes, discussed something in my therapy session that brought up some stuff, an event I'm dreading etc.

I looked at my clock this morning and it was 7.10 so I jumped out of bed thinking I was late......

but then I actually woke up and it was only after 5am and it’s been a complete mind duck since 😂

In my dreams I’m always much more intelligent than I actually am, think I was Einstein in a former life, you wouldn’t believe the things I’ve invented in my sleep! 😂

I had a very vivid dream earlier this week about my grandma who died a few years ago, it really affected me. In the dream my dad said my grandma was in this home but it was probably best I didn't see her as she was in a bad way so I could keep my memory of her how it was, or something like that, which upset me. Anyway I was walking past this room where she was and saw her through the window but she was all glammed up but looked like she did in photos I have seen of her before I was even born. I ran in and gave her a big hug and said 'I miss you grandma' and she cried and said 'I love you darling', it felt so powerful. Then boom I was awake, it was about 4am and I just started crying my eyes out. I told my boyfriend about it later that day and cried then too, it was so weird I've never felt quite that emotional after a dream. I find this time of year difficult so I'm thinking it's because my emotions were/are all over the place, although I would like to think it was her visiting ❤

I have some really bizarre dreams. A lot of the time I know I’m processing things- be it how I’m feeling, things that are making me stressed or work related stuff. The most bizarre ones I have are when I’m doing work things. I’m a programmer/ data scientist and I’ve had many dreams where I’m fixing snippets of code and I wake up and it’s the actual solution I need.

When I was a child, I used to have this recurring dream about me being inside a wheel shaped cage. I was inside the cage, but was able to move it around like a hamsters wheel. Outside of the cage, everything seemed to be normal, I was very often in locations that I knew. Weird huh?
These days I have had some terrifying dreams, (nightmares really) sometimes involving my late family members. In my last dream, my Mother was throttling me! I dream of my family members quite often, I intereact with them as though they are still alive.
I do have less disturbing dreams, but I rarely remember them.

I do believe sometimes that my dreams must be my mind/heart warning me about things I'm really feeling.
Then theres nights like last night when I dreamed I owned a theme park/zoo 😂 bizarre

my mom has had dreams like that, with late family members; she often will do a little prayer the morning after (she’s not religious) to settle her nerves.

Meanwhile, an odd recurring dream I have is me dating or hooking up with people I have zero attraction to in real life 😅
