Do you eat your five a day?!

Either I smash it or I eat none! Usually breakfast comes with berries or a banana. Then lunch has cucumber, apple and grapes and then dinner either has a side salad or vegetables. I might also snack on an clementine or two. I’m trying to reduce the fruit and up the veg due to the sugar.

Yes, I have grapes every day. Fermented and in liquid form, but hey, it all counts.:p

No, actually, my diet is very good. Today I had blueberries, strawberries and raspberries with greek yoghurt for breakfast, a tuna, beetroot, kale and tomato salad for lunch and we're having fajitas for dinner. I love fruit and veg. Just need to look at portion sizes as they are too large.

I think I need to start switching out my cornflakes for porridge with fruit. The cornflakes never fill me up, so I’m hunting for snacks by 10am, and if i switch to porridge and frozen berries then maybe that helps me get 1 of the 5 earlier i the day, and fill me up.

Some days yes. I recently bought myself a Nutri Bullet, so I make up for any days where I may not get the full 5 by making myself a smoothie.

Conrnflakes have never filled me up either.

I sometimes stew either fresh fruit, or frozen and add this to Greek yoghurt with a handful of muesli, or nuts, to bulk it out a little more and keep me regular. 😉 Surprisingly, it is quite a filling breakfast and will last me until lunchtime if I eat a decent portion of it. But that depends on whether I’m doing something physical like gardening, in which case I will have a banana mid to late morning.

Yep.

Breakfast I might have oats with a banana, berries or some apple. Other days, an egg scramble with mushrooms, spinach, red peppers.

Lunch chicken with roasted broccoli.

And then dinner always has veg. If it is a curry or soup, likely more than one vegetable.

I remember a dietitian telling me you'd get more nutrition by eating the cardboard box they come in than the cornflakes themselves. 😐

I love raw spinach, broccoli, asparagus and mushrooms. I eat the first two by the bag, about 500g/260g a day.

hate fruit, can’t stand any of it. The closest I’d come to eating fruit is prunes 😍

my diet is shocking, but I do love veg.
the best and ably thing I eat from the Christmas dinner in the sprouts, about 25 of them in one sitting 😐

I do try. I’ll usually put 3 different ones in tea. So in lasagne I’ll put onions/toms/peppers then I’ll have a side salad with it with red onion, toms and cucumber. Or tonight we had a chicken casserole which had carrots onions and courgettes in and I did broccoli and cabbage on the side. I usually have a banana for breakfast and maybe a pear in the day too. Or avocado I eat quite a lot of , I like that in toast with red onion and tomatoes. I do eat tons of chocolate too 😂 so try and balance it out.

I don't specifically count it out. I think I do most days, but portion sizes are really difficult to gauge sometimes.

I'm a bit rubbish with fruit, but really good with veg.

Yeah, I’m more likely to succeed with 5 a day of veg and salad, but I’m a fussy person when it comes to fruit. Some make my gums itch (kiwi, i am looking at you 👀), so I tend to stick to the berries and grapes and apples. I cannot stand banana for the smell, taste or texture ( ) so I’ll try to have berries with porridge this week to see how I get on.

Oh snap with bananas 🤮 Even apples bug me, the skin gets stuck in my teeth 😂

I eat my 5 a day religiously - I really enjoy fruit and veggies so I find it easy to get them in during the week. I find it harder at the weekend, not because I go mad with unhealthy food but because my eating pattern goes out the window a bit 😂 so I try for 3 portions those days.

I'm so bleeping tired I genuinely thought you were putting your mixed roasted winter veg in your tetley ☕
Omg that’s so funny! I’m usually very conscious of that and only use that word with my midland/northern friends but I must be very tired too 😂😂😂 I of course mean in my dinner 🥘😂

90% of the time I have more than my five a day, I’m a pescatarian and I love fresh vegetables. Not so keen on fruit though apart from melon or satsumas.

Today though it will be a struggle not to just eat all the beige rit. Over indulged on the fizzy grape juice last night 😂

I eat more than my 5 a day 6 days a week, I struggle on Saturdays and only gave 2-3, I am really busy usually so miss lunch and have toast for breakfast rather than fruit and yoghurt. When I am at work I fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, eat salads for lunch and also an apple or satsumas etc, then veg with my evening meal
