The problem with ds is the forums are more of a liability than anything for Hurst magazines as they won't really make them any money so they don't care.
So they've asked forum members to put themselves forward to mod and that attracts the worst people so it's predictably turned into a mess. Anyone that is desperate for the power should be kept well away from it.
I hope more of the good posters join our lbc thread here!
I love Classic Corrie and often glance over that thread on DS. I missed the argument but couldn't believe Daisy was banned, as she always seemed a nice, inoffensive poster. It was basically baggage being dragged over from the the "Simon Hate" thread mentioned a couple of pages back, and the Classic Corrie thread where someone complained about too much talking about biscuits or something.
Daisydee made a light reference to the Simon thread and a user (I think called Angel something) kicked off and just started attacking her for it, even telling her to f**k off in one post. It was clear that some beef had gone down between them as Angel just carried on having a go all afternoon. Everyone else (apart from Korner Kabin, who stuck up for themselves after Angel started on them) just stayed out of. I think it's unfair that Daisy got banned because she wasn't really reacting to Angel's posts but hey-ho, that's DS moderation for you.
Sadly it's killed it for a lot of people - as I've said before, it's a game for some to get people banned by constantly reporting them and the mods are either too stupid to see what's happening or too scared to go up against the clique. Can I ask how you became a mod? Other forums I know the mods have been approached after being posters for a while. I've never known anyone to advertise for mods but then DS is a large, well known forum so I'm not sure how it works on larger sites.
The moderation on DS has killed it for me. It's no fun when you have to think twice about everything you post.
For someone who likes to come across as a well travelled, intelligent lady, she does have a tendency to post comments that would be more suited to a spotty adolescent trying to be cool in front of his mates.Tanya being her usual classy self in the Prince Philip thread. Whatever one thinks of the bloke is it that hard to show the most basic respect to any 99 year old who is ill and in hospital during a pandemic? I have never understood people who need to shock all the time, constantly bringing any conversation no matter what the subject down into gutter levels of innuendo. What's that all about beyond the obvious answer of attention seeking?
On another I can never decide if SeagullNipple (formally known as starry_rune) is serious with their banging on about chalet parks, eradicating Covid-19 in six weeks even though you'd still need at least some activity to keep the country running like engineers working and supermarkets open, etc...I can never quite decide if this poster is a master troll or just batshit insane. Entertaining though.
The bans I have received have been for the most ridiculous things and was what made me question the whole moderation. I literally read every post twice before I post now and some threads I just don't bother with at all these days. Not exactly fun.Sadly it's killed it for a lot of people - as I've said before, it's a game for some to get people banned by constantly reporting them and the mods are either too stupid to see what's happening or too scared to go up against the clique.
I saw that too. The pack smell blood and are waiting to pounce.I saw the pack circling Gortonian this morning over the fried chicken comment on the Steve Allen thread but they were out of luck because he didn't rise to the bait.
They also tried it on with Martin Rosen the other day but he stood he's ground with them.I saw that too. The pack smell blood and are waiting to pounce.![]()
That gang certainly try to get posters banned if they offer an alternative view - some of them must be mods they would not get away with half of their games if at least one of them wasn'tThey also tried it on with Martin Rosen the other day but he stood he's ground with them.
I'm not a controversial poster at all and try to avoid getting into heated discussions. But even I'm finding lately that I'm writing a huge long post, rereading it before I press post and thinking either a) it's a waste of time because it'll only go unnoticed or ignored or b) despite being really inoffensive, someone is bound to jump on it, so I end up deleting what I've written. The bans I have received have been for the most ridiculous things and was what made me question the whole moderation. I literally read every post twice before I post now and some threads I just don't bother with at all these days. Not exactly fun.
Enjoying life here though.![]()
I've got feeling they are trying to get rid of the last few original posters over there. That gang certainly try to get posters banned if they offer an alternative view - some of them must be mods they would not get away with half of their games if at least one of them wasn't
That was Banglaroad who took it up with him.I saw the pack circling Gortonian this morning over the fried chicken comment on the Steve Allen thread but they were out of luck because he didn't rise to the bait.
Yes it was that's one of his tactics ask a sensitive question wait for somebody to bite then have a pile on.That was Banglaroad who took it up with him.
You'll be notified on the site and via your e-mail.How do you know if you’ve been reported?
Or twist the answer to make them sound bad so he could then report them - he's a very sad individual.Yes it was that's one of his tactics ask a sensitive question wait for somebody to bite than have a pile on.
is she the one that likes Shirley and Phil together on EastEnders?Oh no, that must be a different one. Monalisa is most definitely not married, and is very childlike with obvious mental health problems.
