Me too, I just caught the immediate aftermath where they were discussing what had happened, I presume it was linked an argument about cliques and going off topic.

I've just been in the showbiz section, well duck me backwards, some brave person started a Katie Price thread about that FEB14 duck up.
I'm surprised it's lasted so long, I thought Katie Price was a banned subject.
Mind you it's sadly a piss poor thread, over here are KP threads are the dogs balls.

I never posted much on DS but I just want to say to anyone now on here who may have posted on the old Chawner Family (is Emma Chawner the new Jade Goody?) threads on Showbiz... you are hilarious and brilliant and you got me through a really, really bad time.

It was basically baggage being dragged over from the the "Simon Hate" thread mentioned a couple of pages back, and the Classic Corrie thread where someone complained about too much talking about biscuits or something.
Daisydee made a light reference to the Simon thread and a user (I think called Angel something) kicked off and just started attacking her for it, even telling her to f**k off in one post. It was clear that some beef had gone down between them as Angel just carried on having a go all afternoon. Everyone else (apart from Korner Kabin, who stuck up for themselves after Angel started on them) just stayed out of. I think it's unfair that Daisy got banned because she wasn't really reacting to Angel's posts but hey-ho, that's DS moderation for you.
The problem with DS moderation, is that it's faceless.
On other forums, the Moderators normally engage with other members of that forum. So everybody then knows who is in charge.

It seems so unfair that the person who started it all and was the one dishing out the insults isn't banned.
That thread is quite cliquey, they always talk about their online delivery orders and what crisps they are eating today.
I hate it when there's been a kick off and the posts have been deleted because I'm nosy and like to see what I've missed!

The moderation is by far the biggest issue with DS these days. It so off it's a disgrace. DS is the only forum I've been on were you have no idea who the mods are. They should either be unable to post or if they do we should be aware they are moderators.
I've seen so many times arguments going on threads between two posters, literally for pages, and only one of them will be banned or warned.
It's no coincidence that there are so many people now who have been members for many years without so much of a warning have found themselves banned within a very short space of time while others seen to be able to post what they want and bait freely without any consequence.
I remember when they advertised for people to become mods.

It's not that cliquey, there was only a couple of posters that do it and it's pretty harmless stuff. The poster that complained about it was probably in a strop because they weren't getting any attention by anybody. Besides, I bet most, if not all, internet forums have little cliques on them - even this one

On another I can never decide if SeagullNipple (formally known as starry_rune) is serious with their banging on about chalet parks, eradicating Covid-19 in six weeks even though you'd still need at least some activity to keep the country running like engineers working and supermarkets open, etc...I can never quite decide if this poster is a master troll or just batshit insane. Entertaining though.

The problem with ds is the forums are more of a liability than anything for Hurst magazines as they won't really make them any money so they don't care.
So they've asked forum members to put themselves forward to mod and that attracts the worst people so it's predictably turned into a mess. Anyone that is desperate for the power should be kept well away from it.
