To be fair, I do think the witching about specific (named) forum members is a bit out of order - they’re not influencers/famous people, they’re just people who have opinions on a different forum. But that’s just my opinion.

I do in general prefer Tattle to DS now, I rarely post over there any more.

Wow! I guess there are ways to circumvent this if you have the desire and energy to do so but they're becoming increasingly draconian (not to mention inconsistent) so maybe it's not worth it.

They probably know if you login to a new account on a phone that you used previously to login to your old account? I only have phone internet/data after cancelling my broadband a year or so ago, so i use my phone to go online.

If the mods had taken 5 minutes to weigh up my 17 years of posting and thread history they'd never have banned me in the first place. My spat with a few touchy forum members regarding questioning some elements of the corona virus situation, the data, pcr test reliability and how the whole situation has been handled, got me reported and banned for 4 weeks. Just to reiterate, the perma ban I brought on myself by being impatient and setting up an account on an email they recognised, or do they know what phone you log in on, maybe its that ?

I should have sat out the temporary ban for 4 weeks! Doh

Its a decent forum, I do miss it.

Hi all, I'm another former DS member that has migrated over. Don't worry, I've had a test and isolated so I'm not bringing any of the DS madness with me. This is my first post and I already feel way more comfortable posting here than I did over at DS.... at least here I don't have to worry about Tanya being offended or worse telling me about her sexcapades.

Unless she follows us over here.

What are the alerts they're talking about over there - is it pressing the report button and if so, how do other members know how many times someone has done it?

:confused::confused::confused:

I assumed it was reporting a post.
That seems to be the obvious thing but does it come up on someone's profile how many times they've done it - I don't remember seeing anything like that and I only every reported 2 posts when I was on there, neither of which were directed at me but unnecessarily nasty towards other posters so I was never that au fait with it.

Yes it does. I’ll use the notorious Tanya as an example:

Tanya has 105 discussions. But if you delve further through her profile (by clicking “more discussions”) you will see she has only started one discussion (aka thread). Which means 104 of those “discussions” are actually reports on other users posts.

I’m so tempted to log back into DS and call this Tanya bint an annoying troll. How long do you think I’d last if I did?

Tell her you don't mind if she goes to Portugal or Brazil, or somewhere with or without llamas (it'll be a little callback to an exchange I had to her earlier today on the 'should the thumbs-up button be scrapped' thread).

I got the impression from that exchange that she reads on here as well

This thread is hilarious! I posted once on DS got banned within half an hour.

There is definitely an in crowd over there. I still lurk over there now and again, but, every thread descends into an argument, over the most minute of things normally and the same group of posters keep the convo's going around in petty circles.

I've registered here to just add this comment! (Such a friendly forum, hey Tattle!)

Aargh, by jove I've got it - that means I lied about reporting 2 posts, it was actually 10 in 14 years so worse than I thought but not bad considering. I've never understood the reporting thing unless it was for something really bad like the post that was made about Lucy earlier but was quickly changed. Surely it's easier just to ignore the post or poster rather than getting a blistered finger from pressing the report button so often - in life there will be things you don't like, get over it and move on. It's kind of sad if you feel the need to keep doing it - maybe a discussion forum isn't the place for people like that, an appreciation site would be better.

Question: has anyone got any tips on making a successful return to digital spy? I only use my mobile phone data as I cancelled broadband a year or so ago.

There is no appeal procedure to a ban and they block your email to them if u contact them, it just bounces back.

Any good advice appreciated

It's a little touch of power to those who do it. They're probably the types to go full Karen over an expired coupon. Reading the DS thread linked here, a couple seem a tad peeved over the discussion over here, that Tanya character is trying to be nonchalant about it. She really is a piece of work!

You’d have to change your email address, internet provider and mobile number. Is it worth the hassle?

Try it and see! Someone was banned for using the word in a general sense. She’s been called worse
