I used to love lurking on DS back in the day, then I found Mumsnet and finally Tattle!

Blast from the past hearing all these old user names. I remember Ebonyhamster, did she used to have a lot of ailments? Sorry to hear she’s no longer with us.

Does anyone remember Sweetprincess? She was harmless enough and quite naive but used to be all over the MH370 threads and other posters used to have a go at her for asking inane questions.

So funny reading this thread. I'm a long time DS lurker and tbh, when I do post it's a quick short snipe, and fun to see them bite. I absolutely cannot stand Macca and Walterwhite. Sure I've mentioned this before. They are absolute trolls.
Jason seems to have nothing in his life but DS. His tales of never ever being able to get a woman, and yet he's ok with that...are so boring, he brings it up in just about every other post he makes...yawn.
Tanya is a pure fantasist, how she gets away posting the shyte she does, who knows?
I miss DAN. He posted pure wind up threads, they were funny. Obviously too much for the strict regime of DS tho....

The classic soap threads have all been taken over by the gaggle old boys club I've noticed. I use to enjoy reading them, but they've completely changed in tone now. There's a couple of users who have completely taken them all over, and they are boring and repetitive now.

I seem to remember a poster back on Holby.tv who created entire background of an ill child - I seem to remember the child even died.

This went on for YEARS and people got very involved in it (there were even pictures posted of this child and IIRC another baby when the 'mother' gave birth again. She was heralded as such a brave and strong teenage mother. I can't remember if the baby was poorly too, I don't think so.

Then it came out that she'd been making it up and the entire site blew up. I seem to remember she was called a form of Lottie/Charlotte ? I don't know if anyone else can remember it/used HTV? I'm thinking back about a decade-ish so I could be remembering some of the smaller details incorrectly - it's just a brief memory that came to me earlier.

Did anyone get caught on DS for anything similar?

I'm pretty sure someone faked their own death last year, but I don't think they were caught out?

The person's posts were very personal and far fetched, and actually a similar style to Tanya1982 thinking about it.

I did... What a horrible judgemental bunch of people! I didn't last long! Though there were some very funny long running threads that we clearly a wind up, Alphabet Street and the Puddle Saga that ended up being started by the same poster under different names. People got so invested in them!

I got a warning for saying I objected to being called cis, it was being used as an insult

jerefprdterra and SeasideLady are two who I am surprised have stuck around at DS for so long. Both seem like nasty pieces of work and seem to be almost everywhere on the forum.

This is my first post on Tattle, and am so glad I found this site and this thread in particular (Thanks Google!)

Was a DS drone for about 4 years, always kept away from the volatile forums/threads, never ruffled any feathers. Just wanted a quiet time posting my thoughts while trying to be one of the guys. But for whatever reason I made a fairly innocuous post about Kate Garraway, and the next thing I'm jumped on by the Garraway fanboys and girls, and shortly after banned!

That was a couple of months ago and I'm still locked out. I lurk there, but it really is a secret member's club now. If your face/views don't fit, out you go.

Am hoping Tattle isn't quit so merciless(y)
