And to think I got a "warning" for banter that didn't involve the Marmite Motorway.

OMG I was just thinking about this exact thread! It's so funny what sticks in your head. Did she work at Boots at the train station?

I also recall she did nothing but decided to reignite her love for creative writing. I even remember people suggesting she join writing classes but she said there were none local to her. Other posters actually tracked down classes that were, in fact, local to her, but she was having none of it.

I liked that thread too. Yes she worked at Boots. It's an interesting thread. She seemed like a sweet and funny person.

She developed a crush on the train driver because he went into the shop and told her he recognised her from the train. She seemed lonely and was probably flattered by this, which lead to her infatuation with him. She said she would sit at work and daydream about a handsome man coming in, telling her she was beautiful and asking her out on a date.

She also said she once wrote a note on a receipt to a customer, saying he was cute, then he came in the shop again the next day with his wife/girlfriend.

Watching all the remainers in the politics forum having a salty meltdown today at the prospect of a successful deal with the EU..... the tears are delicious

Yes they're so angry and near to tears. But most of all they're all talking utter crap - nothing new over there at all.

I don't know if anyone remembers but there was a wind up merchant about 2 years ago who seemed to have a huge obsession with Roxanne Pallett and also posted some frankly odd threads. I think she claimed to be a lecturer at a uni with a PHD in history whilst also doing 4 hour Sunday morning shifts at Waitrose. Also was an advocate of 15 minute public toilet checks.

That said, for the most part harmless and the threads were often quite funny so I kinda wish she wasn't banned. It's what I don't get with DS - silly wind ups get the ban but people who are actually quite vicious in what they say don't go anywhere.

Merry Christmas all.

Merry Christmas everybody. The amount of posters on there that have degrees coming out of their earholes or run successful businesses or have family at the top of every profession going, while still managing to spend all day, every day on DS spewing hatred and venom is truly amazing.

They've just closed down a thread devoted to discussing people who used to post on there but no longer do. Why would you do that!?

They’ve never allowed you discuss banned members, which I always found really draconian and weird.

If I ever had one NY resolution that I would hope to keep for the whole of 2021, is to keep all those DS fuckwits well away from Tattle!

I’ve been on a forum (LGBT support) in the past where I got stripped of full membership for asking why users had been banned. Needless to say I ended up getting into a beef with the mods and was banned myself.

Doesn’t surprise me that the same happens on DS.

I’ve just found that thread. One poster has claimed that they had a two week ban for mentioning a banned member in passing. Sounds ridiculous, but I can well believe it. It’s such a stupid rule. The mods there are all anonymous as well which I never liked. I think often some of them have a personal vendetta against certain posters, I remember one time they were hacking into posters DMs as well, they denied it but it was fairly obvious as stuff that had been said privately in DMs between people had been used as a reason for banning them. Now that brings all kind of date protection issues doesn’t it?

I've just remembered there was another thread on the same subject quite some time ago, I learned to my horror that Sulla had been banned.

Sulla was banned a few years ago.

Those mods don’t know their arse from their elbow. I contacted them once and asked them why they had taken away a certain feature that used to be on the site. They replied back saying they never had that feature at all and wasn’t planning to implement it. I emailed them back with a link to a 10 page thread I made a few years before about said feature. No response after that

When I was an active member back in 2018, I was quite open about my sexuality (lesbian). However, when I started to receive some rather nasty PMs regarding what lesbians get up to in the middle of the night. I reported them, but the mods didn't do Jack.

However, a few weeks later, I had a pop at Jeremy Corbyn, and within a day I got a temporary banning!

There has always been a lot of very strange, and in some cases very misogynistic men on DS.
