I don’t like all of their episodes but I think the Redhanded podcast on this case is good. I had listened to it before watching the documentary and there are definitely a few things left out.

I thought it was a brilliant series. I think highlights how tricky cases can be without eh objective evidence we often see in modern cases, such as phone data, cell site data, CCTV, ring doorbell footage.

You'll have to forgive me if I get some details wrong, as it's been a few weeks now and I have watched a lot of true crime in between.

Jason Moore - classic joint enterprise. It was HIS 'beef' and HE made the arrangement to meet the victim. I don't believe for one second that he didn't get out of that car. Doesn't matter if he actually did the stabbing or not - he was there and he orchestrated the whole confrontation. Plus if was anything as obnoxious and, quite frankly, awful as his sister when he was on the stand then I'm not surprised the jury convicted him.

Stacey Hyde - she stabbed him in the back! That's game over for self defence. And her friend was outside making the 999 call at the time so the defence of protecting her also fails at that point.The initial conviction was correct based on the evidence presented the jury at the time in my opinion. I would say that the five years that she served for killing a man, given all the circumstances (her age, his violent history etc) was probably about right. Sadly, I think she was one of those people always destined to have a short life. Remember, she was mixing with the wrong crowd before she was convicted and that history of bad judgement and poor decision making just continued when she was released. Personally, I don't think prison can be blamed for that. I found an article on his inquest:


Eddie Gilfoyle - I really need to watch this one again before commenting because that was the epsiode that just didn't hold my interest.

To be honest, I actually thought the series was quite poor - way too one sided towards the convicted person and I have no doubt there was a lot of information missing from each case. Sorry, I know you enjoyed it but I just found it infuriating! 🙈

To be honest, I guessed the whole story in the first five minutes, having no knowledge of the case before, because I'm aware of another case that happened in the USA that is almost identical. It's been featured on true crime programmes - from memory, and it's been a while, a woman is desperate to keep a man, fakes a pregnancy, and needs to find a baby. She meets her victim on some selling group I think (Facebook or Craigslist) for baby equipment/clothes. Outcome is exactly the same. I'll have to try and find it. Hang on.

I too guessed early on but it was still pretty horrific when they actually showed the aftermath and victims family. She is a dangerous psychopath.

Just to also say I think my Sky listings were wrong and there are no episodes of Murder 24/7 on next week. I could have sworn the last one I watched said episode 6/8. Then again, I probably didn't have my glasses on and it was 6/6 🙈

I did once meet Mick Philpott, unfortunately, in my time at the benefits office - he was bluster and sexist, I had to do hard focus professional with him, horrible man

I also like Chase - -he's my favourite if the Behaviour Panel.

My least favourite is my fellow Brit, whose name I can't be bothered to remember, and who always strikes me as a complete fecking tool!

Can't believe I've only just found this thread!
I've been watching Megyn Kelly's channel (she formerly of Fox News). I never watched her on that cause Fox News is shite, but it randomly popped up on my YouTube.
She's done some true crime series about well known American crimes - Sonny Von Bulow, JonBenet Ramsey, John List and the Washington Snipers. She's currently doing Scott Peterson. They're actually pretty good and well researched, and due to her journo contacts she manages to get some decent interviews as well.
Might be worth a watch if you've exhausted everything else, or you can recite Forensic Files word for word like me 😅

I kind of got a bit lost in the documentary. Did he do it twice? Once to his friends and then a few years later to the wider public through that events company. And he can't be hiding very well if the doc makers managed to contact him for a comment. All the relationships seemed really odd. The friends, the Godmother etc.

Ah yes! The Daybell case is wild. I listened to an audiobook called ‘the doomsday mother’ by John Glatt in 2024- blew my mind.

So many questions but honestly the parents have aged so much & the twists & turns must be absolutely awful for them.

I think the police accepted it was a scam. But yeah, it was a really odd one. The language barrier didn't help. Lost in translation.
