Not surprising that BAME backgrounds and low incomes are a factor. Poor travel options can mean limited chances to go and get the jab, low incomes often work jobs with unpredictable or long hours which can make it hard to get vaccinated. Also the tip of the iceberg because of mistrust in a system which is systemically racist.
everything you have put affects all people in lower incomes sadly, white working class children are now at the bottom of the pile when it comes to poverty , i actually think the system has changed drastically , look at someone like Alison Hammond she is BAME, she isnt poor or in a low income , yet she refuses the jab , i think to make a point that affects everyone and call it systemic racism is actually a very old fashioned and out dated way to see the world
I had to travel 6 miles to get the jab, im certainly not rich , i keep my head above water, i struggle with anxiety so i cant go on the bus, so i had to borrow £20 to help with taxi fare, i could have said im not having the jab its too expensive, but im now in debt to £20 just so i could get it, if i look at it your way i could say the system has
tit on me,but i made the decision to get the jab and go out of my way to do it.
i would agree with long hours, im sure they could put some places on 24 hours, but again , i know people on nights who had to have less sleep to get the jab in the daytime, in this instance of blaming "systemic racism" on not getting the jab i just find a bit hard to accept tbh , the jab isnt discriminatory against colour , its there for everyone, and we all live in tough times, but i think in this instance you just have to work through it, i could have sat in my house and given up, but its important , hopefully to lower the chances of being ill.
When it comes to systems what system are we talking about, ive never been sure tbh , is it the government ?? what system is it and who controls it , because the government are shitting on everyone right now if it means them.
