I also wear these, I have been through most makes (both daily and not) because I have funny shaped eyes. I have been using these for the past 4 years a love them. I have also starting wearing blue light glasses on the computer at work which I feel makes a difference.

I have dry eyes, and tried contacts 3 or 4 years ago. But even with a liquid solution I couldn't wear them. And on one occasion one lens actually "stuck" to my eyeball. Absolutely terrifying!

Another recommendation for Coopervision Biofinity monthly lenses. I wear them for like 12 hours a day and live in a very dry climate and my eyes never feel bothered.

The worlds most boring thread but can anyone recommend contact lenses for dry eyes? I wear dailies (DaySoft) which I order online but after an hour or so I can’t cope and have to take them out. I’ve tried another brand from vision direct and they were the same

Don’t know if you’ve tried these but I wear Air Optix Aqua monthly ones. I have them in all day, everyday too

Slightly OT but you didn’t mention it - have you asked your optician about your dry eyes? I had a similar issue with mine and turned out I had some kind of irritation/allergic reaction on in inside of my eyelids! The optician recommended some eye drops which made wearing lenses way more comfortable.

No i keep meaning to make an appt! I’ll do that tomorrow

I too suffer from dry eyes to the point where i could end up at eye casualty a few times a year but i use Easyvision aquayes monthly's from specsavers and they are really good, also i carry eye drops everywhere i go and they are a god send. If you don't already use them i would get some and you'll really notice a difference, doesn't have to be the expensive drops i get mine in savers usually £1 per bottle just make sure they are contact lens friendly

I wear Acuvue Oasys fortnightly contact lenses ... I have done for as long as I can remember (10+ years, or at least close to it). They are by far the most comfortable I've ever worn, and I have been wearing contacts for about 30 years. I'm a bit bad at replacing them every fortnight - sometimes I'll wear them for a month or two! Their price point is excellent. Give them a try - you won't be disappointed.

My option told me as long as I kept them clean they would easily last a month, I wear them until I feel they are old which can easily be 4-6 weeks.

Really affordable and the best lenses I have worn to date over the last 20 years. I think I pay about £24 a box which will last 3-4 months, but I wear the same power in each eye for ease so only buy a box at a time.

I’m interested in the hard nightly lenses though!

Another vote for Acuvue Oasys dailies. I don’t produce tears at all & these are pretty good, I can get a full 12 hour day from them. I moved onto them from Clariti Total 1 dailies which aren’t moisturising enough for me.

I use the Oaysis dailies ones too, they were a little more cost wise than the model down but I wear mine 5 days a week and glasses on the weekend. I’ve had no issues.

I've used them and really like them but I find they don't last the full month. After 2-3 weeks they just become dry and kinda cloudy, eye drops don't really help.
I just love that it says you can keep them in all the time even when you're asleep!

I have to wear my glasses all the time now so I thought I would try contacts. Took ages to get a contract lens trial and they need to adjust my prescription so now I have to wait ages for another appointment. My glasses keep steaming up with my mask so I don't wear my glasses. I feel a bit frustrated about it . I also feel like I should have just put up with the contacts they gave me for my trial.

Contact lenses can take a while to get right, because it’s not like a glasses prescription. You don’t want to be wearing the wrong ones but I would ask for a few different ones on your next appointment.

I also struggled with this and nothing seemed to help.
Two years ago I got to the point where I couldn’t cope with any sort of daily/monthly contactlenses. I went to my opticians wanting to talk about Lasik but because I’m a bit too young he introduced me to OrthoK.
They’re a hard lense you were during the night and they reshape your cornea, so then you’re able to see without any during the day.
They took some time to properly get adjusted but now they are near perfect and I can’t imagine going back to regular lenses. Maybe something to ask your optician about?

I tried so many lense brands over the years, some better than others but if you are already prone to dry eyes and have a job that requires looking at screens a lot then unfortunately nothing will ever be as comfortable as you need them to be.

I can't recommend laser eye surgery enough. It does temporarily worsen dryness but after a few months of having to use drops things settle down. I love being able to wake up in the morning and see, and I certainly do not miss the daily faffing around with lenses and solutions nor the monthly outlay for lenses. If you work out how much you spend a month on lenses as an ongoing payment for life, and compare it to the cost of laser, its a no brainer really. And may places offer 0% interest payments for up to a few years.
