Have they told you to lie him flat when burping and then bringing him back up and bend him over? Because that might help bring up the burp? He’s so little, so he can’t even have any infacol or gripe waterCould I ask a question, I think it’s colic but I am not sure?
First time parents and we have a 5 day old baby. He’s very hungry and takes all his milk (Aptamil powder at home and when in hospital was the ready made bottles).
He has never once been sick after a bottle and does not cry but it’s incredibly hard to get him to burp and if we manage it’s only a tiny one. He squirms, lifts his legs up, clenches his fists, goes red, sounds like he is wheezing and does all this for ages. Sometimes stops and then starts again.
He also has hiccups several times a day.
We’ve been shown different ways to rub and pat his back by 2 midwives and a health visitor but it’s not helping.
I don’t know what to do? xx
Maybe try and burp after every ounce, and make sure no air is getting into the bottle when he’s drinking.
What bottles is he using? Are they ‘anti colic’ ones? X
