Christmas Spending

I tend to budget £200-£250 on gifts for everyone. I am going to cut down going out as much to afford it all.

I don’t tend to tip my hairdresser and beautician during the year instead opting for a Christmas gift instead as I’m friends with both . This year I’m stumped any suggestions

I spent around £150 each for my 2 last year. I don't usually spend so much but my eldest wanted a barbie campervan which was pricey. I've got no idea what to get them this year, neither of them really play with toys

Thank you I have said to 14yr old that his pile will be much, much smaller, but filled with all the expensive games etc he has asked for ( if he's been good ) so he will understand. I understand. It's just mum guilt when you see them wrapped up compared to the others. I just need to stop spending and give my head a wobble .

Agree completely - and ultimately the gift is the hours of gameplay, and multiple games will be hundreds if not thousands of hours of play with online multi player universes too. It’s just it looks very different to what a younger child would receive! I wouldn’t worry yourself honestly, it’s not as if you can get him the Barbie mansion too is it

Usually I get the card thing that I save up all year for, its park Christmas savings an you pick how much you want an it tell you how much a week you pay an you pay monthly then it comes as a card like a visa which can be spent anywhere that accepts visa cards, means I don't need to think about trying put money away an I usually shop on amazon mostly anyway so I can spend it there

My children are both quite young which I think has an impact on how much we spend, I don’t doubt it’ll be more once they become teenagers. My eldest is 4 and we seem to spend around £150 ish. My youngest is 9 months so was a newborn last Christmas and we didn’t spend much, I expect it’ll be more this year though.

I dont have a budget, I buy them what they ask for within reason and there has only been a couple of times Ive said no. They have a wish list and they are allowed wish for 3 things. Its been this way since they were little. They will get those 3 things and then some surprises.
This year I would have loved to get the eldest a PS5, he never asks for anything but I just cant seem to find one.

As I have a large family, the adults do a secret Santa as it was getting ridiculously expensive.
Budget of £50, and we use an online secret Santa generator and each person can enter a wish list. My mum often ends up buying us a little something separately as she can’t yet cope with not buying gifts for everyone

I don’t have children of my own yet, but my siblings’ children aren’t included in the secret Santa, we buy for them separately- I spend £15- £20 per child. There are now 7 children to buy for so will be £15 this year.

Husband and I spend £50 on each other, although the year we got married we decided not to buy each other anything as there was nothing either of us wanted and we had an expensive year.

Oh I like the idea of a secret santa generator.

£1500 this year but they want an iPad Pro so that’s taking up most of it. Perks of having an only child.
Family don’t do gifts.
