Every year, without fail, there are stories about crappy "winter wonderland" experiences that parents usually pay through the nose for to drag their kids to, and even this year is no exception.

The most famous of these was the "Lapland New Forest" debacle back in 2008, which saw the perps jailed for misleading thousands of people.

Have you ever been conned into attending one of these? Or seen one pop up where you live but knew better than to give it a try?

I feel bad for people losing honest money but I am surprised anyone is still taken in after years of this.

Totally this! Unless you’ve seen them spend months and months arranging it, and getting appropriate permissions etc, it’s gonna be crap!

I didn’t understand the hype about Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park either, we went once a couple of years ago, but there was nothing wintery or wonderlandy about it. I wouldn’t bother again.
I wouldn’t mind taking the kids to Lapland UK but can’t afford it!

I couldn't believe it when I saw how expensive the HP WW is. Even for London prices it's barmy. Annoys me when you get all the stories in the tabloids about the celebs getting a night there as a freebie ahead of it opening for Joe Public. Not missing that PR rubbish this year.
