Christmas Number 1

So has LadBaby landed the spot? Terrible
I have seen reports saying he's got the top spot for it but other reports saying it's not announced until Christmas day.

Is it just me who bored of song about Sausage rolls?! Is it for Charity? Do radio stations actually play that rit? I've not heard it but his videos are so boring and unfunny now. I don't think Christmas number1 is quite what is used to be though

I would've liked to have seen Liam Gallagher - All You're Dreaming Of at the top spot personally.

I have not heard the song and can imagine it is terrible (although probably better than Liam Gallagher these days mind). They seem to be an honest genuine couple doing it for food banks, so happy they are number 1 or doing well.

I've not heard it but least it won't be a crappy X Factor song this year
Or some soulless plinky piano cover version (Power of Love, Somewhere only we know, etc). I love the originals, but the new versions are so wet they belong in an ocean.

I honestly don't give a crap, I lost all interest in the xmas number one decades ago.

Those two still going with their very forced humour 😲 are they still pushing their 4.99 "premium" membership?

There's so many charity singles from less fame hungry people that haven't already made millions.

Not that I'm interested in the Christmas number one since pop Idol ruined it

Whitney Houston in 1992
Mr Blobby in 93

then it got even worse,

Spice girls 96, 97 AND 98.

I don't get how he manages to do it in the streaming era. I'd understand if it was based on iTunes downloads or CD sales, like when X Factor was number one every year, but these days the charts are much more a true reflection of what people are actually listening to and I have absolutely no idea who is listening to this once let alone multiple times. I would rather suffer X Factor than this nonsense.

I’m not bothered as long as it’s not that rit Robbie Williams has churned out 🥱

I would have loved to have grown up in the 70s and 80s when Christmas songs were Christmassy.

I didn’t mind the novelty songs of the 90s and early 00’s but couldn’t stand the following era of Pop Idol/X Factor number ones.

Where does it say this ?
I worked for a well known charity in the late 90's that were linked to a charity record. I'm in no way saying that charities don't benefit from sales but its eye watering the amount that's creamed off for costs re the amount that is eventually handed over to the charity. So when they say 2 million records were sold they are not getting all that money which is what a lot of people think.

That’s shocking - why can’t they be more transparent or are they these days ?

I’m done with the sausage roll themed songs. It was funny the first year and for a good cause, but second and third year - I’m done with it. It’s not funny! Plus if they got a third, they’d be in the record books with the Spice Girls for having 3 consecutive Christmas number 1’s and I don’t like them enough for that.
personally, I think it would be hilarious if the Boris Johnson song was Christmas number 1 😂😂

I mean this with the utmost respect to front line workers.....

NHS Christmas songs get in the actual bin.

Thing is their first song was ‘good’
not fantastic, not epic-just good with a bit of funny
second song-ok
not really something I’d listen to but ok
third song-it’s so weak-don’t stop believing is a good song-not one of my faves but brings back some awesome memories of a miss-spent youth-they’ve butchered it with sausage rolls
its like that’s all they know and keep going with it
the video is low budget and it shows-a van crawling round London-they could have done much better on the budget-it’s the lack of effort
its awful but I really hope that it’s not number 1 this year-and if it is-they don’t bring one out next year-give someone else a chance at the top spot

i don’t hold out any hope-they’ll milk this until it dies
