Hi Christmas lovers. I thought this may make everyone smile!

I welcomed my second daughter into the world today. I had to go to theatre for 2.5 hours afterwards after a lot of trauma down below and a blood transfusion after 3 litre blood loss. The doctors were absolutely incredible and talked to me about so much to keep my mind off what was happening at the other end of the operating table. I told them I was thinking about Christmas & Christmas songs. The head doctor started singing some Xmas songs to me and then sat down beside me and said hang on, I have a surprise for you. He then put his phone beside my head and started playing a Christmas music playlist on Spotify 😊. I got to listen to about 10 songs while I was in surgery and all the other members of staff were singing along and talking about whether they’re started their Christmas shopping, what their Christmas traditions are… whether Die Hard was an Xmas film or not.

It was such an amazing experience and even if they thought I was a bit loopy, it was lovely everyone getting excited about Christmas and sharing my excitement. 🎅🏻🎄❤. When they wheeled me out of theatre, I said goodbye and wished everyone an amazing Christmas. They all said I was so lovely 🤣. X

Guys I’ve finished my Christmas quilt! I only took up sewing this year so it’s far from perfect but I love it

Just to carry on from a post I made on the last thread about a lump I found in my boob and got a referral for a couple of days before Christmas, I’ve been to the breast clinic today and it’s just a fatty lump 🩷🩷 all that worrying over Christmas was for nothing thankfully

To keep on topic I also got some fairy lights in Asda sales. I got 2 boxes of 200 lights which were £2.50 each, and a box of 100 for £1.70 each. Will keep the 200 boxes for the tree next year as I got a new tree but may still put the old one up so may need more lights 🤣 and I’ve put the 100 string lights in a little vase in the corner the tree was and it’s helped to lighten up that corner ✨

I don’t know why but last month all I wanted to do was Christmas projects. Even through the heatwave.
Really happy with these. The tree ended up huge. Made it for my nanny. Gonna fill it with some nice soaps or hand creams or something and some sweets.
The elf box is a lot smaller so will just fill with sweets but it works out because it’s just meant to be a little gift for someone 😊

I just wanted to say the biggest thank you from the bottom of my heart to everybody that has been kind enough to write beautiful messages of congratulations and well wishes - reading through them has put the biggest smile on my face. 🥰

I so wish I could say we gave baby girl a Christmas themed name. Carol was on the list, I love it (especially as our first born’s name also begins with a C!). But Mr Mushroom wasn’t keen.

We went with Grace instead. However I did just Google “is Grace considered a Christmas name”, and the reply brought up this…
Yes, "Grace" is considered a popular and classic Christmas name due to its meaning of divine favor and blessing, which aligns with the spiritual significance of Christmas. The name carries strong connotations of the festive season and is frequently listed among top names for children born during the holiday period.

So maybe I did get my Christmas name after all, just don’t tell my partner 😜 he he. Lots of love and Christmas blessings to you all. X

Do any of you wish you could just hide away for a while during the winter/xmas period? I was daydreaming of going to stay in a large wood cabin like this:

And then spending some weeks leading up to and including xmas hiding away with a couple of dogs for company, a bunch of xmas food, warm clothes, and just spending some time surrounded by nice scenery and nature for a while. There would be a small city or a decent sized town not far so I could commute to and from, both by foot and car to stock up on food, drink and other goods, and just to go see civilisation every few days. Also, ideally I could have a tv in the cabin and I would watch xmas films and shows, and a radio to listen to. Along with reading some books too. Not much to ask is it? haha.

This year I’m keeping a note on my phone. Every time someone so much as breathes a hint of present idea I’m writing it down. One of my biggest Christmas stresses is just not knowing what to buy.

Can I join? 😊I have been on the Tattle waiting list forever and randomly saw registration reopened last night!

I am in Christmas mode from pretty much January 2nd 😆 I have a whole notebook of different lists for Christmas in my phone which I will start updating once the kids are in school - food, gift ideas, days out etc. I’ve bought my kids their main present already as it was over 50% off! My next thing is patiently waiting for the M&S Christmas food reveal so I can start planning what to buy…

Well I'm starting off 2025 well, I've bought a few bits for this year's Christmas (I'm also writing it down so by Oct/Nov I can check what I already have) 🥳 😊
ITS JANUARY FFS.
Just so you’re all warned in advance I will be haunting this thread like the ghost of Jacob Marley haunted Scrooge. 😘

We’re getting our dog a brother!!! Another puppy ready to come home beginning of November 🐶 so I’m on Etsy getting his matching Christmas stocking to his brother’s 🥰🙊 we can’t wait to have Christmas with two babies 🤗

We’re choosing to ignore and block out the horrific trauma we went through with the first dog and his puppy stage 🤣🤣🤣

I cannot wait for our Christmas Day walk and all the new traditions with our little family 🥰🎄

I’m also new and been reading along here with you all year but unable to comment until now! I’m usually an early starter but this year I’ve been really ill so haven’t got anything yet. I’ve got my savings pots though and crucially my Liberty Advent calendar savings pot. I’ve lusted after it for years but can never justify the enormous expense, but in Jan I started to put away some money every time I had an urge to spend and I’m almost there. After the year I’ve had health-wise it will be an even lovelier treat! Anyway, it is so lovely to finally be amongst you, my fellow Xmas lovers!

My mams in hospital atm and it may be a long recovery so I offered to start her Christmas shopping for her as we’ve got a big family. She thinks I’m being kind but it gives me an excuse to look for even more stuff without actually costing me anything 🤣 feel like a personal shopper, just did some damage in B&M 🎅

Someone stop me from buying more wrapping paper. I got this years last Christmas when I couldn’t decide between two colour themes. The amount of wrapping paper I have could rival Santas bloody workshop. I don’t have kids so haven’t even got that much to wrap but what can I say I’m just a slut for wrapping paper/matching ribbon etc
I briefly looked at the preview of the attachment and then had to do a double take, because I thought you had gotten two Christmas tree tattoos on your arm 😂😂😂

On Christmas Day, I only cook for myself so it's usually my foreign mother's boxed up foods from her country, lots of picky bits from M&S and Sainsbury's and if I can be arsed, I'll even plate it rather than keep returning to the microwave/air fryer. The best Bisto is a must too. All over the duck fat tatties 🤤🤤🤤

All of this is done with a glass of fizz, topped with orange juice, and wearing a festive pair of pajamas. It's the only day of the year I allow myself to walk the dog in bedtime clothes and I know my grandma is up there absolutely appalled. That's probably why it's so enjoyable 😅
