I appreciate raising 10 kids is a lot of food and clothing but... sorry giving people 5k a month is not justifiable IMO

They also don’t have to buy any school lunches, school uniforms or books which saves them hundreds if not a thousand or two amongst 6 kids.

There are two main elements of Family Tax Benefit (FTB) in Australia:

1. Part A : Paid per child.

View attachment 3705731

2. Paid per family, not per child.
Max rates:
  • If youngest child <5 → up to $188.86/fortnight
  • If youngest child 5–18 → up to $131.74/fortnight

Total: Part A × 10 + Plus one Part B

5k a month = ~60k AUS
Their mortgage repayments must be high, plus no feeding 10 kids and 2 adults. The money would run out fast.

Ro had a job what a good 10 years ago as a Woolies baker and had to quit to help Chloe. No parent works in that house.

Having 10 children and then deliberately choosing to homeschool all 10 is a cop out to not work. They make their cash from child benefit and exploitation of their kids.

They did have their online shop until recently, they would have got some income from that.

Can’t have been much because when they announced they were closing it they hadn’t actually done any advertising for at least a couple of years. Used to quite like them when they only had the 6 and they actually tried with the shop but the more kids they’ve had the more ridiculous it has become.

I really like them, i enjoy their vlogs although i wonder if the children get any one to one time with either parent.
I worry that the older children are very isolated from children of their age although they do some activities with others. I hope they do some things other than going to parks with their younger siblings.
The children seem very clever and very happy.

One on one time would be rare, especially for the elder children. It’s impossible to split your time between ten kids on a regular basis.

They also have income from Youtube. The very first video I saw from them was a family food shop. It had 3.2 million views a while ago.

Most of the kids are still young and under 14. Think she has four under 4 year olds. They won't be eating that much despite food prices rising.

Do we know if they actually bought their house? Perhaps it was social housing?

They bought the house a few years ago.

the focus is always on little kid activities... the older kids should be with friends their own age and at clubs by now! not hanging out with 2/3/4/5 year olds.

So many of the big families (well the youtube ones) do the 'having to do everything together all of the time' rather than working positively with different kid's abilities, interests, and age stages etc.

I remember (again from tumblr days 10/12 years ago) Ro was a baker and earned $50k a year and they said that was more than enough to raise a family on until the age of 18 and I can specifically remember her saying she wouldn’t be supporting her children financially past the age of 18. So naive. Although they did live in Tasmania at this point and it was 2013 so the cost of living was very different. Can’t say the same for 2025 perth though! 😮

Hair is awful sorry. Is this some crisis cause she isn’t having any more kids? I feel as though her youngest could have done a better job.
