What an awful day one of my closest friends has lost her mum today. Yesterday they were enjoying a day together in her garden, today her mum had to have emergency surgery on her brain and didn’t make it. I am lost for words and cannot fathom what I can say or do to help my friend or make her feel better hold your loved ones tight as you never know when it will be the last time you see them

That’s so scary hope you’re okay. From someone who’s lost a parent unexpectedly honestly all you can do is be there for her, even if it’s just sitting doing nothing/on the phone chatting tit. One of the hardest things after losing a parent is that people say nothing because they’re scared to say the wrong thing but that feels like tit when your the one suffering. I’m sure she’ll appreciate anything and you seem so lovely and level headed and that’s the kind of person you need after such a loss. Take care

Oh no that is awful I’m sorry your friend is going through this but I’m also sorry you are going through it in your own way too. My fellas brother died very suddenly two years ago and it such an awful time, I didn’t know what to say or do for him or his family, even just being there and not saying anything, but just for her to know you are there for her whenever she needs you is what will help her. Big hugs

@WilmaHun i lost my dad suddenly and the first week felt like one huge blur. Some of us barely ate others ate non stop. Some of us showed our emotions others grieved in public and were strong in company. Honestly she won't know what she wants or needs. I would maybe go practical and drop off a meal if you feel like doing something or offer to make some of the phone calls for her. Other than that it's a case of letting her know you are there for her

I second that. I lost my dad suddenly and was all over the place but really appreciated those that were there when I needed them even if it was just to talk nonsense to at random times.

Good evening everyone. Hope you're all okay and sending love to anybody that needs it. I've been quiet as I've been so busy with uni. 3 exams and 2 assignments down, one exam and a dissertation to go

I was driving to Starbucks yesterday and had a car accident. I had an accident in October last year which went down as a claim on my insurance so I was literally SHOOK. Got out of the car and they were like Omg it's not your fault!!!! thankfully there wasn't any crazy damage, one of their reflectors smashed and they said they would let me know if they wanted it repaired (obvs privately) they were really kind about it though. Hopefully they dont do what that guy did to @Peaches_xox

Hey everyone. Just wanted to say I’m so sorry I didn’t put a trigger warning on my post last night, obv it’s too late to edit it now but at the time I was just in shock at what had happened not thinking normally and wrote and vented without even thinking then it hit me in the middle of the night how triggering that could be for some people so I am so so sorry. I hope I’ve not upset anyone. X
