I think hair dye from the supermarket or wherever is fantastic value. For only a few pounds you can dramatically change your look and I find my hair always looks quite shiny afterwards, the fab conditioner that they include probably. Obviously a bad reaction is a potential hazard (not that I ever do a patch test, been okay so far). I’m having a purple phase at the moment.

I‘m not putting down the services of a professional hairdresser, by the way, and realise that some people would prefer to pay for their expertise etc.

I paid £££ for a hairdresser to tone my hair over the summer and it lasted 5 minutes. Cheap box dye does a way better job and I can top up whenever I need to. Agree that the conditioners are usually quite good too

I like cheap tortilla chips. Branded ones are too heavily flavoured and overwhelm whatever chilli etc. you’re pairing them with. Those cool flavour Doritos taste like salty soap to me.

I follow “buy cheap, buy twice” for a lot of things, but the Sky man recommended a Hisense TV as mine broke and I’d never considered the brand. They offer a two year warranty, setup was easy and I got a 4K 43” for £279.

I also love Lidl’s own garlic bread. I always buy the basic range because they’re usually vegan but their one is the best because they’re not stingy with the garlic ‘butter’.

Astonish cleaning products are fab, too.

Morrison’s cheap 33p washing up liquid is 100x better than Fairy and I’m usually a brand shopper.

Tesco own brand fabric softener! The scents are lovely and last much longer than Lenor/comfort x

The cheap tin foil for about 65p - it doesn’t stick like the other ones

Supermarket baby wipes are better than branded.

Usually for the food shopping I get the shops brand that's so much cheaper, somtimes I don't feel there's a difference in it, we get the 28p jam an it tastes as good as any other jam lol

Also like the cheap colouring books off amazon, some are so pricy like the johanna basford, I do have some but ive found even the cheap books that's under £5 have just as many images an are just as nice to colour

Not sure if it would be considered cheap but I love primark pj's, I take them over anywhere else, would much rather pay around £10 for the ones out primark than almost double from next or somewhere, same with their plain tees an jeans, most my clothes are now primark lol

I love Primark pjs too. My ex used to buy me them from The White Company and Victoria Secret and they were awful.

I've tried all the premium brands but I really rate the make up range at Wilko, their blonde eyebrow pencil cannot be beaten

Aldi’s tropical blast is way better than Lilt!! I think it’s about £1.30 ish for 6. Whilst on the subject of Aldi, their version of Quavers (cheese curls) are better than the real ones.

I’m also a lover of the 28p strawberry jam as I don’t like seeds or the lumps of fruit, which makes many of the more expensive ones no good to me.

I love Alberto Balsam’s tea tree shampoo as well, smells gorgeous and leaves my hair feeling super clean and is only ever about a quid.

I’m sure I’ll think of more!!

I'm not massively brand loyal so I'm always willing to try own brand stuff over the brands (with the exception of a few things like ketchup and shampoo/conditioner etc).

Asda cheap beans are far better than Heinz, which are gross in comparison.
Asda/Aldi own brand squash tastes better than Robinsons
Aldi skincare is fab for the price
I agree cheap jam tastes no different to branded stuff

Aldi loo roll, like £2 something for a pack of 9! So much cheaper than branded and it's not bad quality either.

Sainsbury’s own bread, comfort, cakes, beans pasta and enchiladas kits all own brand good value and the best taste for me.
I used to by twinings English breakfast tea. Now use Sainsbury’s teabags one’s in the red box only 60p. I find them so much better and their decaff tea in the blue box.

Aldi’s racer (snickers) bars are better than the real thing. Also love their deodorant, find it really good, only one I don’t seem to smell wearing scrubs at work

Tesco fabric softener is great.
Pink stuff stain remover is better than any of the bigger brands.

Aldi washing pods. I've had branded and can't tell the difference.

Sainsburys underwear isn't too bad either.

Yes I love Aldi’s skin care, Lacura, such good quality for the price. I also always buy whatever is on offer face cream-wise (Olay or L’Oreal) in Home Bargains.

Sainsbury's own brand multipack crisps. The prawn cocktail is SO much nicer than Walkers.
