Changing make-up brands

So I’ve been using Mac for a number of years, but they stopped doing my favourite foundation about 18 months ago and I haven’t been happy with what I went back to since (studio fix) I don’t feel like it looks as good as the water weight one (I think it was called)

Anyway I’m looking at changing foundation brands completely, I’ve heard good things about Charlotte Tilbury but was wondering what other people thought. I’ve still got a lot of Mac products to use so will only be changing foundation for the time being.

I have no experience with Charlotte Tilbury but if you're looking for any, my personal rec would be NARS. I use their Sheer Glow foundation and its my absolute favourite.

The fenty foundations are really great, I used to wear it daily and it was the only foundation I ever used that stayed in place from morning to night.

There’s soooo much choice out there it’s insane, I never stick to just one brand lol. It depends what sort of make up you like - do you like a full coverage, medium, light? Matte, dewy? Also depends on your skin type. I can probably recommend a lot of products if I know what you’re looking for 😊

I usually go for a matte finish and like full coverage! My skin is pretty good to be fair not oily or dry just want something that will sit on my face a lot nicer than what I’m currently using.

So frustrating as I’d usually go to town and speak to someone but thank you all for your help ☺☺☺

I use NW20 in MAC if that helps at all ☺

I use Natio BB cream, with Natio primer applied underneath - the coverage of the two is excellent, like a light foundation. Excellent price point too.

When I used to wear foundation, I loved Estee Lauder's double wear. I'm sure it must have contained something my skin loved, as it looked really healthy. As I've aged I've gone off foundation though (I find it too heavy).

As above, estee double wear is a matte and full coverage foundation. Getting colour matched is tricky at the moment though isn't it.

I use mac studiofix fluid but it's too drying for me. Its one of the only foundations that cater for my weird skin colour and tone.

Urban decay all nighter is much fuller coverage than mac studiofix and is matte.

Maybe also try having a live chat with maca nd see what they suggest? 🙂

If you like matte and full coverage my go to’s would be Fenty pro filter, Charlotte Tilbury airbrush (insane coverage and really beautiful) and Estée Lauder double wear. For a cheaper price I would also highly recommend revlon candid foundation - it’s fantastic x

I was matched the same colour in MAC but didn’t get on with the formula of it. Felt too oily for me. So I went back to my OG Estée Lauder double wear and I wear 2N1 desert beige. I’m yet to find anything that I like more. Maybelline do an ok foundation ‘fit me’ which is okay if I want a quick bit of coverage or don’t want to waste my double wear. But no other drug store foundation has worked for me and I’ve tried lots.

The website https://findation.com/ will tell you matching shades in other brands to your current MAC one! :')

Estée Lauder Double Wear over here 🙋🏻‍♀️ It’s very lightweight for a full coverage foundation and it stays in place without setting to your skin like cement. I changed to EL from MAC years ago and the MAC stuff is like polyfilla in comparison. I’ve never looked back.

I use a mixture of high end and drugstore make up.

I love Estee Lauder double wear when i want full coverage/ going out out.

But i love Maybeline urban dream cover foundation for every day use. Its beautiful.

I cant wear Double wear every day as i find it drying and matte, and it gives me the ick after a while tbh, but its what i use when im going anywhere special.

Nars is also a really lovely foundation.

But the best thing for me is i bought some Zoeva and Smith brushes and they completely changed everything about my make up- in a good way
:)

I love and use exclusively CT for everything except foundation 😂 I find CT foundation oxidises really quickly, I have the lighter one she does and I also bought the thickest one too but I don’t like either of them. So another vote for Double Wear from me!

The ones I use on rotation are MAC face & body, Estée Lauder double wear, Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk 🙂

I used to love Bourjois foundation but they’ve stopped selling in the UK. Revlon Colourstay is meant to be good, as is L’Oreal True Match.

I am really pale, MAC couldn’t even colour match me. I use Estée Lauder double wear in 1c0 shell.
I find the findation site always suggests shades that are too dark as a lot of brands don’t cater to my ghostly hue.

If you use the findation site, buy through boots as they are allowing refunds and exchanges on all products due to covid restrictions prohibiting testers.

another double wear vote here! Have tried other cheaper brands but nothing compares, I have quite oily skin so find they just leave me looking like an oil slick after a while. I tried some testers of Chanel once after my friend raved about it but just didn't rate it as much as Estée Lauder so stuck with what I know and like.
