Caroline Flack #2

I feel there is no one person to blame. But so many things that happened where I feel action should have been taken.

Never been to court but can you not speak up when the prosecution are saying the wrong thing. Or is that seen as bad.

Nobody is at fault when a loved one commits suïcide.I will have to say that Caroline was mentally ill since she was a young girl and her parents seem to have had a hands off approach when it came to their daughters well being.

Sad situation all round for everybody involved. It's a shame Caroline couldn't seek the help she so desperatley needed. I speak as someone who's lost a loved one to MH. When their mind is made up, they're very good at pretending they'll be okay - I don't think Caroline hid her feelings and it was pretty clear to see her downward spiral . Sadly everyone will have their demons now and their own guilt but nothing would have stopped this outcome imo. Hopefully after this documentary dies down, Caroline can be left to RIP and Mum will feel she's done what she can to 'show the truth' etc and leave other parties alone.

I do believe the police handled it badly, i dont think lewis was to blame if it were any of us we would also call the police. Is he allowed to move on? Yes she is gone he has to move on with his life

it is a shame she took her own life, her family should have moved her in with them as soon as possible knowing the past history of mental health

The tabloids are a disgrace especially posting that blood photo when it turns out it was her own blood

Was that her older sister in the documentary? They didn’t seem close at all
Yes. But 10 years age difference so maybe they didn't connect as siblings.

I did wonder if the mum ever stayed with her during this period. But then as Caroline was no longer a baby she may not have wanted her mum there.

No one is ever to blame if someone takes their life. Not the media, not their friends, not their family. Blaming the media for Caroline is wrong - not least because it’s not true but mainly because any attempt to blame someone’s choice to do that isn’t ever the fault of another person, group or organisation.
if you like/feel sympathy to one person and blame any other party for their decision to end their life, you’re going down a very dark rabbit hole. Where do you draw the line? Their employer? Their girlfriend? Their ex girlfriend? The pub quiz which they didn’t win?

I don’t know, I think there was as much chance as any that she would’ve struggled hard with lockdown as we all did and not having any jobs to distract herself with. I think sadly with her history of attempts and mental health issues, if it wasn’t the attempt that ultimately led to her death that did it, it was going to be one further down the line.

It’s a classic thing all the celebs do. Check into the priory or wherever for a bit of sympathy but it works!

Sadly I think she was quite troubled and the end result regardless of the CPS would be the same. Her industry is brutal for women once they reach a certain age and I think she would have struggled with that.

Ya I agree I think lockdown wouldn’t have done her mental health any good at all. She needed to be surrounded by friends at all times and that wasn’t going to be able to happen with the restrictions in place. She probably would have felt even more lost and alone. Although the court case wouldn’t have been front page news any longer it was probably just going to drag out the enviable for her and would have given her more time to overthink but this time in total isolation.

I think they should have given a caution as they originally were going to do. I don’t think she deliberately hurt him, was just trying to rouse him to get answers. Everything is magnified at night perhaps after drinking too. I do think the Sun was very sensationalising with the blood photo that was from self harm.

I’ve seen a podcast of him talking about it, no idea who’s podcast it was
ETA apparently it was control the uncontrollables just over a year after she passed

I saw that today. Think he's friends with the podcast guy. He was very respectful I thought.

I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole because there was just something so off about her mum on the show. Happened upon the cps review for anyone who’s missed it and, wow, eye opening

Also found her mother’s comments to the Di who asked for the CPS to reconsider. Very strange for a grieving mother to refer to Caroline as “that girl killed herself because you put an appeal through”

Her mum wanted her to be treated as special. The CPS didn’t make an example of her, they treated her like anyone else who there was watertight evidence of had assaulted someone else and denied it.

I‘m a woman who is massively pro women (and you can see my other posts on here for evidence of that) but I really draw the line at abuse. Flack was a mentally unwell woman who had a track record of abuse. She assaulted her boyfriend (of 3 months remember - they barely knew one another) and then when he called the police, she self harmed to such an extent the bed was covered in blood.

I cannot rationalise this as anything other than abusive behaviour.

So much to unpack here. Thanks for sharing. Andrew Brady went on to serve time for harassing that Dan Wootton, not sure if he’s still serving that time.

Andrew seems so odd because they mention at one point in the documentary that he went from posting an NDA an saying abuse has no gender when she was first arrested to then hitting out at the media when she died?
