Me again! Sorry but I haven’t got a clue and I want some reassurance please.
Got in touch with the garage my insurance sorted to fix my car after not hearing anything for two weeks. The garage have said the insurance are saying it costs more to fix the car than the value of it so have not touched the car at all.
family reckon this means it’s gonna go 50/50 when it wasn’t my fault please say what the garaged said doesn't indicate that and there’s still a chance I will get my car back 😢

50/50 would be that the liability for the accident was both you and the other driver or that fault couldn't be determined.

Knock for knock is an agreement that some insurance companies have in place as they are owned by the same parent company etc. And is totally different to 50/50

But 50/50 has nothing to do with the garage saying your car isn't economical to repair. Thay means your car is a low level write off. So you should be paid the value of the car from the other parties insurers rather than it being repaired.

Thank you I feel so much better with your response. People have said from the pictures you can tell it was the other cars fault 😢 but I have no witness or camera footage for it just were the accident happened and my black box.
first time this has happened to me so I haven’t got a clue, anxiety is through the roof and lack of communication from people is not helping

Hi tattlers, unsure where to post this as when I’ve posted in fb groups I get accused of fraud etc 😂 I had a car crash last year, car was sorted by a family friend as the excess was too high. However i sustained a bad back and neck, the driver was found at fault but they can’t get his details from insurance, my insurance have gone down the MIB route. I don’t want a ‘big payout’ nor am i doing fraud however I have been taking regular painkillers as I work in a manual job and my back is still sore to this day. I just wondered what’s the likelihood of this ever being resolved as it’s been going on for nearly a year now
Your insurance company have went down the MIBI route as the driver has not been identifiable. MIBI claims are solely for that purpose

Update on my car: they sent a price to the other persons insurance and they agreed to the repair of my car but as they started to repair it found something up with the suspension and decided it’s a write off.
this week my insurance got in touch and said they are challenging the incident saying it was my fault but they are claiming it was at adifferent round about. My insurance saying that the third parties story doesn’t make sense and even though trying to say it was my fault their story still put them at fault.
hones I just want this to end I hate how it’s been nearly two months still going on and it’s just over my head 24/7 and none of it makes sense

Yes that’s correct, I’ve just had a financial losses form sent to me and I’m filling out but regarding my daughters car seat I got a new one as I was told I shouldn’t use a car seat that’s been in a crash but don’t have the receipt for the car seat, does anyone know what to do?

Yes thats correct. Not all insurance companies would cover car seats and if they do there is likely to be a limit on what amount they would cover for. I would definitely tell them about the car seat and say that you don’t have a receipt but provide evidence from online store or local retailer at what they are currently being sold for and they will review it. If you purchased the car seat online you might have an email receipt or invoice either?

Hi guys,
Still on going dispute my car ended up being a weight off and my insurance has challenged twice but they’re still denying liability.
Does anyone know how I can find out if there was cameras at that round about that the council installed? Who would I have to ask? I just want this over and done with now it’s been nearly 4 months

Thanks

I renewed my car insurance for next month but ended up getting a new car. It was £450 more to change the policy I already chose so I cancelled it. Been comparing and if I select not bought the car yet but will be it's £90 more than if I select I've already bought it??
