Brexit voter regrets? (Poll question)

I'm afraid Macron and the french Presidents will be the De Gaulle's of the next generation and repeatedly say 'Non' to us going back in. We are going to have to suck it up I'm afraid.


The Oven-ready deal was about the withdrawal agreement, not the trade agreement, and of course it was OUR fault for thinking that.

The fact that Johnson and co didn't correct people is of course beside the point.

I get why, it's been very divisive. I've learned when not online to keep my opinions to myself. I think that's why it came as such a shock to people when leave did win but for those who sat quietly and waited their turn at the ballot box, it wasn't a huge surprise. I live in arguably (because I've read about 4 or 5 different areas that claimed it) the area that voted the highest for remain, and honestly the backlash afterwards has changed my opinion to a certain extent of where I live.

For me, I know that the UK had it good within the EU. I know that we had opt outs, I approve of many of its values but ultimately I don't see it having a successful future, and I still believe that. Economically, I think the Euro is a disaster, and it will unravel in the next 10-20 years and in turn will bring down the whole project. The EU feels very unbalanced, and unless they agree to full fiscal union it will never work.

Tiny point, and although I still would have voted leave, one of my children was in a class with the child of our MEP their whole school life, 5-16. If ever you needed an advertisement for the stereotypical bloated MEP, it was them. Before I even knew who they were my opinion had been formed just by their behaviour. Entitled, arrogant, virtue-signalling, hypocritical, condescending champagne socialist. Showed themselves up at events and I have anecdotes of poor moral behaviour. Completely depressing that they were the representative for my area and had their equally awful partner on the payroll too.

Yes, I agree very much that the Euro has been badly handled. I was appalled when they virtually bent the rules 180 degrees to let Greece in, which was always going to be a disaster waiting to happen. However, Brexit has shown for many countries that they are better left working together rather than trying to try to agree individual trade agreements, particularly the smaller ones.

Regrettably, you can get terrible representatives (Councillors, MP's, MEP's, and Peers) of all political colours. There was an excellent conservative MP where I live in 1970's/1980's who turned up to every event going and was very popular. Sadly, he died, and was replaced by a guy parachuted in as he was a mate of big wig and did absolutely nothing (cash and collect basically). My MEP in 1980's was very good, but he was not popular with the top lot, and was got rid of quite underhandedly.

Remain then and now....I‘m very worried about us crashing out without a (reasonable) deal -the thing I’m most worried about is not being able to get hold of my daily vital medication due to shortages/shipping delays and my health skydiving as a result.
