"Be Kind"

I work for a counselling service and have helped out on support lines during covid. There is a frightening trend of people using counselling services as tick box exercise to remove their own accountability for selfish and devious acts and this is stopping counselling services from helping people with genuine mental health issues. Cheating partners seeking counselling because they were caught out, blame mental health and not themselves for their actions. Big difference between being kind and being selfish

Before the “Be Kind” movement, it was bible thumpers with bumper stickers “Random Acts of Kindness” - always the worst types. Do as I say, not as I do.

My kind of people! I like it. When influencers have been jetting off here there and everywhere during a pandemic but you arent allowed to hold them accountable because they just HAD to go on that boat party and snog a random lad for their mental health (Anastasia Kingsnorth) - be kind though.
They ask a question on Twitter, someone answers it, influencer responds back in a rude way (Gabriella Lindley) - be kind though (only to me)
I dont get how going to your 6th illegal party in a week is for your mental health but if you ever dare bring it up it's always oh be kind, think of Caroline Flack. They're just massively taking the piss out of mental health and it's all being treated as one big joke. You cannot say be kind and then sit blocking everyone who has an opinion on you. Be kind also applies to you (influencers). I saw a TikTok the other day of a girl at uni in her room having a meet up with her friend on Zoom while next door her flatmate was throwing a massive party. Anyone agreeing with the girl (she said they were stupid) were told it's important for mental health and "be kind". You know what's kind? Being bleeping respectful

I can’t stand seeing this hash tag anymore as it’s almost always shared by people who are witchy on social media, and used as a get out clause.
Sorry i must be cynical.

I seem to remember Clemmie Hooper banging on about being kind whilst behaving in a witchy, nasty way herself. It’s always the nasty ones that think they can do as they please whilst dictating that we are all ‘kind’

The people who use 'Be Kind' often turn out to be the biggest bullies.

The Internet is full of it now, they'll preach be kind but as soon as you say something they don't disagree they'll quickly turn against you.

I find the “manifesters” are just a bougee #bekind breed. “I’m not letting anyone bring me down. I’m on a higher vibration, you can’t handle my energy” yada yada. Positive affirmations can be great but persistent talk of the universe providing and getting rid of “negative people” 🤮

This year should have been the year to cancel these holes but it won’t happen now. When lockdown is over and the virus finally begins to filter out, they will still be filming unboxing videos, filming their holidays and press trips and receiving their freebies.

It makes me so angry that a lot of them have carried on as normal. Still seeing their friends and families, going abroad and getting their hair and nails and teeth done. The world has truly gone to tit, and apart from the people in this forum, no one else has really seen them for what they are.

I’m aware I’m generalising. Some of these influencers have stuck to the rules but SO MANY haven’t and have hidden behind the, now, bull “be kind” mantra.

It was a year of reflection for a lot of us, I’m sure. I realised how much I hated my job and started working for myself instead. I had a huge clear out and vowed not to buy as many clothes and make up as I had done in 2019. These guys? Barely any revelations coming from their feeds. They continued almost as normal with no repercussions for their actions.
How did that happen?
Sorry, /rant.
