I don't mind Angela in the afternoons, just the general, let's grab a famous TV presenter and stick them on primetime radio. Listened to a bit of Sara Cox yesterday for the first time. I'm not a big breakfast radio listener, normally up and out to work early and do find there's too much chat. Anyway, her show was too much random members of the public. Too much airtime to people I don't know or care for.
You’re so right! That’s what I’m finding so grating. It’s constant listener call ins, messages etc. All the games/ features are featuring listeners too aren’t they? So little conversation between themselves or with famous guests. I was looking forward to Sara taking over from Gary as always enjoyed her on the drive time show, and disappointed its such a mess. I used to listen at home whilst we had breakfast and then in the car and I’ve just naturally stopped putting it on at home as it’s just so boring yet over the top. I still have it on in the car out of habit but find it annoying. She seems to have transferred the style of her drive time show directly to breakfast with no tweaks to the vibe to suite the mornings. Really odd. How are the producers etc not realising.
They need to immediately reduce the amount of listener interactions more like the levels of Scott’s show and focus more on guests, themes and features that focus on Sara + team and celebrity guests. Can they not get the guests on? Are the team not gelling? Sara seemed to bounce off of Richie (dare I say it!) better then Ellie.
And for the love of god get rid of kids in a car. It’s tone deaf with all the privileged insufferable kids off to ride their ponies and stay at their holiday cottage etc
