I’ve been subbed to Barry for a very long time … back when he used to do weekly vlogs and was My Virgin Kitchen ! I think he’s a really nice guy , seems like a lovely family man , and I’ve enjoyed his videos for many years . Sometimes I do find him a bit grating haha , but he seems well meaning and nice .

I've always wondered how much Barry makes too from YouTube, since he's not got that Beard Meets Food (now there's a thread of its own!) pull but rather the "longstanding YouTuber with a loyal audience" type viewership. Patreon seems to have a solid number of people on it though (1,372 at present) and his minimum level is £8 a month. So monthly he is pulling £10,976 minimum- MINIMUM- from that because there will be people on the higher levels!! That's not including YT members, merch sales or rpm from his vids. He must have a decent pay scale on YT rpm, because he is family friendly and therefore ad-friendly for all.

I understand there will be tax to factor in as well as maybe there are dormant Patreon members etc. but damn he must make a really solid income from it all. Good for him I guess!

I preferred it when he was just home with a challenge he goes too many places and his videos are so samey now. Why do we constantly need to see josh as well
He's a big league international YouTuber now.
Eating shitty burgers and kebabs in Leeds he has left to the likes of Danny 2 Strokes.
There can't be many enormous fry-ups with those nasty catering sausages left to devour in the UK.

He’s been doing random live streams more often lately, I’ve had a look now and again and noticed him getting a lot of super chats with people giving him money so that’ll add up too.

It does look like he has a large house and the garden kitchen would cost quite a bit, so he’s probably got a lot of outgoings, plus paying Hugo as well!

Also, his constant squealing when the cheese toastie machine popped up! I agree about Hugo, he's not that charismatic, I'd rather see more of Boston.
i don't care about hugo i'm sorry but when you start being ll flash hiring people same as beard meets food you become unrelatable and that look i'm just a little youtuber becomes unrelatable too why do they all become pompus with their own crew

I agree, the whole family, plus Boston the pug always come across well. I think that Barry does try to crowbar too many puns into each vid though.

I often wonder how much Barry makes from his videos when he talks about how Patreons and YouTube members help with the running costs of ingredients etc 😅

I used to enjoy his earlier videos, where he made giant versions of confectionery, with his freind James. I wonder what happened to James? Barry certainly has evolved since those early videos.

His quirks drive me mad the seal bit and when he constantly does back to the future references

Ah Barry!! I watched him but stopped for a while as I worked in professional catering so it was a bit much watching him get things wrong (understandable yet frustrating ). I also found the humour to be a bit cringe and not my thing so that put me off too. Recently though I've found his videos quite entertaining- like the 100 layer ones and cheap v steep - and he's way more tolerable than he used to be (for me). I like too that the girls don't appear anymore, better to keep the kids offline although they seem lovely. I like Mrs. Barry but I haaaate that he calls her mate :ROFLMAO:
He calls his kids mate as well I hate it too

I’ve also watched him since the Virgin Kitchen days and just wondered if there’s a thread!

My mum’s a newer viewer and absolutely loves him, and overall I do still like Barry too. I like the gadget videos as well and when he gets new appliances to try out.

I’m not used to Hugo yet. I preferred it when it was just Barry and his family and sometimes it’s like Hugo’s being shoehorned in, as well as all these movie clip bits etc added in.

I sometimes feel like he’s chasing views with all the TikTok and viral recipe videos and that it’d be good to see him doing more of his own original content and ideas in terms of what he’s cooking. But he’s said himself that he’s not a chef!

He drives my husband mad sometimes always talking about how dangerous things can be. Admittedly I did think he was laying it on a bit thick recently when he talked about cutting himself a lot and it looked like he was squeezing his finger, but we still watch every video! 😂
