Not sure if this is the right place to put this but would love a page for us all to discuss baking recipes we have used and either loved or disliked!

Good idea! I love baking.

This is my go-to chocolate fudge cake recipe: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/naughty-chocolate-fudge-cake

I find BBC Good Food really reliable, but I avoid anything of Mary Berry's as I've found the results weren't as good.
Oh my god I totally agree!! I thought it was just me! Used one of her recipes for a chocolate birthday cake, took me all day and when I cut the first slice it hadn’t cooked in the middle. It had said to mix the coco with water which I knew wasn’t right but went along with it, I was furious 😂

Tried the bbc brownie recipe this morning and they’re good!

Does anyone have a recipe for moist vanilla cupcakes? All the ones I try end up really dry

Oh amazing ! I’m not a great baker but I enjoy it , I try to bake every Sunday so my husband can take bakes into his work (teachers so they all appreciate it in the staff room !!)

I am a big fan of Jane’s Patisserie , and last weekend I made her raspberry and white chocolate blondies and OH WOW ! https://www.janespatisserie.com/2016/11/10/white-chocolate-raspberry-blondies/

My husband said he had people stop him in the corridors at work and ask him for the recipe 🤣 ... so it went down well :)
I've recently discovered Jane's Patisserie and everything I've tried has been amazing. I did oatmeal raisin cookies which were to die for, then this week I did apple crumble traybake (although did it with pear as I couldn't get cooking apples) and it is the tastiest cake I've had in forever.

Those blondies sound good too!

They look great! I must admit I haven't mastered the brownie yet so I'll have to give that recipe a go. 😊

Just a tip, if you’re adding chocolate put it in the middle before but add any on the top when it’s cooked and push them in otherwise they just melt or cook into it

This is an all-time favourite, lemon drizzle cake with a lemon curd swirl. The polenta makes it super moist

Also a big fan of this banana cake, although I make it all in one instead of following the recipe exactly (it’s not lockdown without a banana bread...Right?)
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.lordlucy.com/amp/banana-bread

More generally, my mum and granny swore by Delia so if I can I will use a delia recipe although Mary Berry’s victoria sandwich is perfect every time

Jane's Patisserie for blondies recipes, they're amazing!

I have a cake business side hussle - I love baking and decorating. I use a mix of recipes but my best sellers are definitely based on Cupcake Jemma and Jane's Patisserie recipes. I like Hummingbird too.

I'm another who isn't overly impressed with Mary Berry recipes - my mother in law bought me one of her books (im a cook book hoarder) and everything is just a bit meh.

Anyone know a decent blonde recipe? I don’t rate them but wondered if anyone had a decent one

Loooove this thread 😍🥰

100% agree with everyone’s recommendations of Janes patisserie.

I’ve made these cookies I saw Tanya burr on YouTube make years ago, hundreds of times and have always gone down really well:

If anybody is looking for some gluten free baking, check out Becky Excell (gluten free cuppa tea), her recipes are incredible and don’t taste at all GF
