My mum witnessed awful things growing up, her mum was an alcoholic and she witnessed her mum stab her one of many boyfriends. My mum had to wash her knickers in the bath when she had a bath, she did all the cooking and cleaning when she was around 10 years old and looked after her 3 younger brothers. Her mum passed away of alcoholism before I was born, when my mum was really young. Heartbreaking.

That what happens to my ex-best friend. She came home one night from staying at her BF to find all her clothes were in ashes and anything remaining in the rubbish bin. Her crime - the mum thought she was spending too much time at her bf house.
She was so devasted that she moved away from her mum and completely cut all ties.

I cut all ties over a phone bill and when she rang demanding 3 of my kids for the day
she hadn’t bothered with them for months but wanted to show my aunts what a top nana she was having them for a few hours-cos ‘I’m always having them-she’s a rit mother who’s always dumping them on me’

she was heard wailing ‘but I need them today!what will my sisters think?’

it has left me with issues of over buying crap with no attachment to the stuff but I’m getting there slowly
